Would Proposition 19 strengthen or weaken organized crime in California?
It seems to me that the distribution networks already in place would remain the same—only stronger.
I AM NOT INTERESTED IN DUI OR WORKPLACE STUFF—JUST THE DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS. Also, please no rhetoric about how much you hate big corporations or the liquor industry. Finally, no nasty references to Mexicans and Columbians—I don’t think they control Marijuana distribution in Northern California.
Yes John, but I suspect that Marijuana distributors are already closely aligned with politicians. Consequently, they are on the fast track to profit from legitimization. Much like the way the first millionaires in Russia were the black marketeers of the Soviet Union.
it would weaken organized crime, because the government will be able to regulate the sales of marijuana. organized crime will have trouble making money by selling weed off the streets because once prop 19 goes into play, people will be able to buy marijuana in less illegal ways.
Legalization/decriminalization of cannabis will result in the destruction of most of organized crime’s profits from its production and sale.
It will strengthen organized crime because there will be so many drug addicts that the need for harder drugs will increase.
The distributors would remain the same. Consequently, it would strengthen organized crime in California.
