Why is marijuana legalization on California’s ballot if only stoners are going to vote for it?
Proposition 19 is nothing more than a poll to determine how many stoners live in California. All non-stoners are going to vote “no”. I guarantee it.

Well, some folks are hoping that they will legalize pot, tax the hell out of it, and rescue California from the brink of bankruptcy.
You’re wrong. I don;t smoke, but support legalization
My friend, you know nothing. There are a lot of “non-stoners” who WILL vote YES on Prop. 19. There are a lot of people who don’t consume marijuana but don’t have a problem with other people doing it. Plus people will vote for it based on the estimated tax revenue alone.
make it legal and get rid of the street dealers
If you believe this, then you know nothing about American politics.
There were non-drinkers supporting the repeal of Prohibition, so why wouldn’t there be non-pot-smokers supporting CA Prop. 19?
I have never done cocaine, but I would support legalization of personal use for all adults (their bodies, their choice).
Are you serious with this question? Only people that are prescribed it would be able to get it, it’s not allowing marijuana be legal. I guess you don’t care about people with cancer that need it.
No way man
The polls are showing that we might actually do it this time
And theres no way that everybody who’s supporting it is a “stoner”
Case in point Glen Beck& Sarah Palin support it
Well the polls are leading at the moment. So are you saying that a little more than half of all people in California are stoners?
The mayors of San Francisco, Los Angeles and (I think, don’t quote me on this) San Diego have all publicly announced they aren’t going to waste precious police resources chasing casual pot users. Are they stoners too? And the state legislature passed a law decriminalizing pot, and The Governator signed it. Are they all stoners?
I’m not a stoner. Last smoked weed.. thirty years ago? Something like that. I’m voting yes because decriminalizing marijuana will not only save our state billions in the long run, but because I see no reason why a drug with effects similar to the alcohol I’m allowed to buy is treated like Satan himself. It’s a social liberty position.
It’s also because I support the industrial hemp movement. Get rid of the arcane laws regarding marijuana and you have a potential trillion dollar crop. A weed that grows with almost no fertilizer, three crops a year, and every single part of the plant can be harvested and sold.
Not really.
Even this ex-stoner will vote “yes.”
