When marijuana is legalized in California, will it be easy to start up a small business?
Marijuana will almost undoubtedly be legalized in California within 5 years. When it is, do you think it will be easy to profit off of a small business selling weed, and other commodities? Very open ended question, lets hear some feedback, and maybe a little economic detail.

Do you honestly think that the state of CA won’t have strict regulations to control the sale and tax the sh*t out of it so no one makes money but the government? Plus anyone who got through that would have all the illegal growers and operators that already have a market advantage and would do some pretty bad stuff to protect their interests. It would be like the wild west all over again when the gangs start trying to protect their existing business interests.
Marijuana is still illegal at the Federal level. CA can do whatever it wants but you are playing with fire thinking that in any way protects you if DEA comes calling.

I doubt the gov will allow anyone to do small business. The only reason these medical centers are thriving is because they aren’t competing with the gov because the gov still makes it illegal. Although the dea will bust up one of the shops every once in a while.
When it’s legal most of us will just be growing to personal use. They’ll prob only let you sell if you have a license, but you know how much those licenses are going to cost. Plus they’ll tax you a bunch wherever they can.
When it is legalized pretty sure crime rate will fall down, and I think people would just grow one for their selves instead of buying one well in Amsterdam there is a certain rule for marijuana yes it is legal there but individuals must grow one for their selves buying is prohibited as well as selling
It is legal in CA. Still illegal at the federal level. As a result, counties are, for the most part, prohibiting it. It is very easy to start a business. It is difficult to succeed.
