Actually in Denver, there is no municipal ordinance (city law) prohibiting possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. Most Denver cops will write the state statute (which is punsishable by up to a $100 fine and restraint action against your driver’s license).
At one time there was a statute in Denver for such an offense, but it 2004, there were only like a half-dozen people cited for the city violation (thousands were cited under the state statute), so they got rid of the city statute.
