What would be the federal ramifications if a state were to trump federal law and legalize marijuana?
Not just medicinally, overall.
Other than the FBI can come and bust you.
Would that state still get federal funding ect?
I understand how the individual can be convicted federally.
My question concerns the state, how does the state get punished, after all they’re the ones responsible?

States can’t trump federal law, that’s why Californians are in the state they are in, the state legalized it, but the feds prosecute for it under federal law.
Would depend on whether federal DoJ was interested in challenging the law and, if so, whether sufficient basis exists to do so successfully. For instance, a few years back, Mass. determined to pass legislation barring trade with Burma (now Myanmar) on the basis that the country promoted slave child labor. DoJ effectively challenged the Burma law http://pokerpulse.com/legal/viewtopic.php?p=604#604 here on the basis that it interfered with Executive (presidential power) to make international treaties/policy, a somewhat sacred presidential right in the U.S., it seems, though it was probably intended to apply mostly in times of warfare and arguably not to commerce.
