What will happen in California if marijuana is legalized this November?
Will you be able to go to a Marijuana shop and buy a pack of joints like you can cigarettes? Will there be mass market marijuana companies? Will marijuana advertising be legal?

Hopefully
i dunno.
they just say they will to treat it like alcohol.
yes to all of them.
and at that moment the news declare the results, the streets will be flooded with people seeing pretty lights.
yeah all will go swimmingly, and people will go around carrying marijuana just mindin’ their own business, when BAMMM!!!!!!! in swoops the federal government to arrest and prosecute everyone…
EDIT…why the thumbs down? regardless is the proposition passes, it is federally illegal which means the feds can and will step in.
I hope so!
They will tax, regulate, and cartelize the hell out of it and the feds still won’t leave people alone.
A few more people will smoke pot
If I recall all this correctly, it gives each city the right to issue permits for opening stores. There is a limit on how much can be sold, grown, and possessed.
Technically advertising for marijuana is legal now, but if you were to do so all you would be doing is bringing the cops to your illegal operation. If it becomes legal then I’m sure there will be some print advertising. It is unlikely there will be any on TV anytime soon. Hard alcohol is almost never seen on TV either.
well the feds are already suing arizona…why not california too.
yes but be weary of the gov’t see they are making money on pot so they want it illegal!
Essentially nothing will change. It’s a semi-open market now. It would still be illegal under federal law and thus would remain only a semi-open market. There aren’t enough federal agents to enforce the federal drug laws in California so they would probably only make large and sporadic arrests and make examples out of them.
real wrath of God type stuff.
Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes…
The dead rising from the grave!
: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria!
Since the federal government has stated they will continue to enforce federal laws, you can expect the same type of raids as went on under the Bush administration on the medical marijuana dispensaries.
So the only real change will be that users will not be punished and small amounts of marijuana can be sold without punishment. However no store will be able to stock it, as anything over a quarter fo a pound will still allow federal charges.
That eventually *might* happen.
But in terms of after it’s passed, you’ll be able to go to any medical marijuana dispensary and purchase without a medical card for it. You’ll also be able to purchase seeds to grow your own. There will be a limit on how big of a plot you can grow for personal use.
Not quite but…you’ll be able to buy it from dispenseries just like the medical patience and even get all kinds of different kinds of weed. Plus weed food goods such as brownies/cookies/muffins/tea/cereal/ect. they have all kinds of crazy shit for weed now a days. And they will probably open cafe’s and hookah bars used just for cannabis use too. You’ll have to be atleast 21 years of age and can grow your own stuff up to 25sq ft in your home.
Basically though, i would already say it’s legalized there. They treat it like a traffic ticket there now. Even though Prop 19. will probably pass Nov. 2nd the feds are threatening to enforce their Federal Laws on it, even though it’ll be under Californian State Laws.
But in my opinion, i dont think they will.
The war on drugs is WAYYYYY more out of hand than the actual drug itself.
I’ve been drunk, I’ve been high. But let me just say I was WAY more dangerous of a person to myself and people around me when i’m drunk. Alcohol affects you x4380529547 times more than weed. It’s been illegal for over 70 years and still hasn’t gone anywhere, So why not just legalize it.
Alcohol you stumble, puke, horrible judgement, slur in your own speech, have horrible hangovers in the morning.
Weed….you have you space out for a few at the very most if that, and it makes food taste better.
Simple as that.
If marijuana is legalized in California, I believe the effects of the decision will be momentous across the whole country. Of course, the federal government will try and crack down, but the effects of the decision will spread to all states currently allowing the use of medical marijuana. Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Hawaii will also follow suit should California pass legislation. I think Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, Michigan, New Jersey, Maine, and New Mexico would also at least vote on similar legislation very shortly after California passes. Many other liberal states like Massachusetts and Connecticut could make decisions as well.
At this point, the federal government may have to realize that it is worth more to tax marijuana (and hopefully hemp should it be legalized. There are billions of dollars in hemp) and therefor reform would reach the federal level and hopefully some sensible laws concerning marijuana would be passed, unionizing the states and feds so that there is no conflict.
This is of course a truly optimistic prediction. We will just have to see I guess.
everything will be better.
first they will legalize.
then another state..
then another state..
then the united states.
then after a few years we would be out of debt, and having a great time.
SMOKIN THE REEFER.
lol :p
