It does not cure anything, but can alleviate pain and nausea (important!) in people who are ill.
Well many say it helps with blindness, pain and cancer but today on the radio I heard a story where the police had to give back marijuana they confiscated from a man because in a lawsuit he showed he was medically approved by his doctor to have it for stress. Figure that one out. I sure can’t. Hell we all have stress, so I guess we should all be smokin a fat one!
These included a whole host of gastrointestinal disorders, insomnia, headaches and as a pain reliever, frequently used in childbirth. The ancient Egyptians even used hemp (cannabis) in suppositories for relieving the pain of hemorrhoids.
In the medieval Islamic world, Arabic physicians discovered the diuretic, antiemetic, antiepileptic, anti-inflammatory, pain killing and antipyretic properties of cannabis sativa, and used it extensively as medication from the 8th to 18th centuries.
Cannabis as a medicine became common throughout much of the world by the 19th century. It was used as the primary pain reliever until the invention of aspirin. Modern medical and scientific inquiry began with doctors like O’Shaughnessy and Moreau de Tours, who used it to treat melancholia, migraines, and as a sleeping aid, analgesic and anticonvulsant.
Later in the century, researchers investigating methods of detecting cannabis intoxication discovered that smoking the drug reduced intraocular pressure. High intraocular pressure causes blindness in glaucoma patients, so many believed that using the drug could prevent blindness in patients. Many Vietnam War veterans also believed that the drug prevented muscle spasms caused by battle-induced spinal injuries. Later medical use has focused primarily on its role in preventing the wasting syndromes and chronic loss of appetite associated with chemotherapy and AIDS, along with a variety of rare muscular and skeletal disorders. Less commonly, cannabis has been used in the treatment of alcoholism and addiction to other drugs such as heroin and the prevention of migraines. In recent years, studies have shown or researchers have speculated that the main chemical in the drug, THC, might help prevent atherosclerosis.
Dozens of medical organizations have endorsed allowing patients access to medical marijuana with their physicians’ approval. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
The American College of Physicians – America’s second largest physicians group
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – America’s second largest cancer charity.
American Academy of Family Physicians
American Public Health Association
American Psychiatric Association
American Nurses Association
British Medical Association
AIDS Action
American Academy of HIV Medicine
Lymphoma Foundation of America
Health Canada
It is used for pain management and for certain disorders such as glaucoma, etc. For some people, it’s the best and only option for them. It’s also used to promote appetite in patients suffering from cancer and AIDS. It has a LONG history of medical use, and has only recently been banned from research and made illegal. Ancient people used this plant as a cure-all, as do many indigenous peoples across the world, how can we rule it out as an option? There’s some evidence to suggest that it can help for people with depression and anxiety as well.

It doesn’t cure. Its just helps people who are on chemotherapy for cancer, IBS, chronic asama, major chronic pain, stomach issues, people who have all kinds of cancer. But it also can help for migraines, extreme cramping. Your doctor can give you more information. Theres people who really could benefit from this drug. It can however like all drugs have side affects like memory impairment, mild hallucinations, tiredness, moody, (like all smoke its not the best for your lungs, but it also eases lung pain in lung cancer patients) lol…. But yhea.
Its a tough subject. But you have too look at it like this. In other country’s its legal and okay to have. In others its part of their culture. America is a tough country. I would love it to be legal! lol. But if it wont then keep it for medical. Its a better alternative then shoving a bunch of pills down your throat.
You should look up the pros/cons of marijuana on-line. You will get better facts from there.
