you have to have a medical card, with the card, yes you can smoke in your residence, and grow up to a certain amount of plants, depends on what city you live in though, I know that SF you can grow quite a lot, as in modesto only six plants.
If not certified for medical purposes, possession up to 28.5g $ 100 fine.
more than 28.5 g, a judge may impose up to 6 mo jail and up to $ 500 fine.
