Washington and Oregon weren’t able to get similar propositions on their ballots this year but if Prop. 19 passes in California, expect them and others (e.g., Nevada, Colorado) to try again in 2012.
The most recent poll has it passing by 16%
52 – YES
36 – NO
12 – undecided
polls continue to favour yes more and more showing that they have the momentum
I really hope it passes more and more people are realizing how safe marijuana is, how beneficial legalizing it will be and how false all the propaganda is against it.
My guess is that it has a 60% chance of passing. Sure lots of people smoke it but there is also a huge number of people that have been brainwashed from the anti drug campaigns from the 80s onward. The people that do support it are probably younger and as we all know the younger you are the less likely you are to vote. People go on about the financial benifits but they forget about the social stigma still attached to marijuana. As for for other states following suit it would be very few who would follow I think New York might and perhaps some of the northwestern states but not most, definetly not in the south.
