I just saw an article about how police “seized” 84 million worth of marijuana plants in the woods of some town. They’re looking for people to arrest and the whole thing but…what if they belong to no one? Then what do they do? I mean heaven forbid there might be some plants growing in the woods, right? What do they do when they find “wild” marijuana? Do they still hunt for people to arrest?

Usually they will hang around waiting for someone to come “tend their crop” and when they do, it’s time to be read their rights.
What they do is destroy it. Usually by burning it.

they dont occur in the wild like they do when people plant them in obscure locations. If there was a stray naturally occurring plant, it wouldnt have made the news.
Unless you live in central Asia, there’s probably not wild cannabis growing in the woods.
LOL, $84 million worth of grass doesn’t just grow wild like that. It has to be encouraged to grow otherwise natural vegitation will kill it off eventually.

It’s not really a big deal, I think they’d probably just kill it. It’s very inferior to cultivated marijuana.

There’s thousands of things that don’t come natural to the US, like horses and Americans. That doesn’t change the fact that they’re hear and the same goes for plants, whether it be marijuana or anything else.
As for what they do? The government probably sells it in the ghetto for profit. And then they smoke the rest themselves. Who knows really?
There is not 84 million dollars worth of MJ mysteriously growing wild near some town. Don’t be a tool. Please tell me you are either joking, or you are under 12 years old.
Either way, it is processed as evidence if need be, but eventually they will hold a controlled burn and destroy it. At many of these controlled burns they allow officers to come and learn drug recognition by by odor.
Half of what is found is retained as “evidence” (and reported to the media). The other half is sold, through street connections, for a profit, and used to fund police department ski vacations and such.
Typically, a big bust like this is “orchestrated” after a dirty cops/dealers relationship goes bad.
