What california laws making smoking marijuana better for that state/?
Title is a little confusing, sorry.
But laws make it easier/better to smoke/grow marijuana in California?
Ah bummer..
Well are they easier on you in the state if they catch they with a little bit? Because I know of people who have been busted with less than a gram here in az and have gotten 1 yr probation 8 hrs community service and a fine..which is insane.
There are none for you and I, but Prop.215 and SB420 help medical patients.
Additional Details:
Possession of less than an ounce is punished by a $100 fine. (Cal. Health & Saf. Code § 11357(b).) This can be a class 6 felony in Arizona. (Arizona Revised Statutes § 13-3405.B.1.) And as a condition of probation, the court shall order a person to attend eight hours of instruction on the harmful effects of marijuana on the human system, or perform twenty-four hours of community restitution. (Arizona Revised Statutes § 13-3405.H.) There exists a similar class that can be assigned in California which will dismiss the case much like traffic school does. But even without it, the case and all records shall be destroyed two years later. (Cal. Gov. Code § 68152(e)(8).) So in that sense, it is better to possess marijuana in California than Arizona.
*/End of Line.
If you are caught with less than an ounce and its your first or second offense, almost all judges will let you attend a diversion program which gets the case dismissed. Program + fine costs about 300 bucks. No probation or community service. I’ve also heard cops are pretty liberal in certain areas (like Berkeley), and a lot of them will let you off if you get caught with just pot and nothing harder. Also it’s pretty easy for anyone who really wants it to attain a recomendation that allows you to purchase medical marijuana legally. I’m not sure but I think you are allowed to purchase an oz per week if you have a reccomendation. Possession of any anount is only a misdeameanor.
