We Remember Peter McWilliams (Official Tribute)
Peter Alexander McWilliams was an amazing New York Times best-selling author. He self-published over forty books from computer books and poetry to personal growth; (LIFE 101 Series), healing loss/depression, (“How to Survive the Loss of a Love” / “How to Heal Depression”) plus Libertarian ideals (“Ain’t Nobody’s Business if You Do”), and even photography (“Portraits.”) He recommended the use of St. John’s Wort to help those suffering depression after he himself was healed from his own crippling depression. He became a medicinal marijuana activist after being diagnosed with AIDS and Cancer in 1996. The government disallowed him to use the herb, and Peter died at the young age of 50 on June 14th, 2000. I’m just an ordinary girl with an extraordinary interest in this beautiful man. Peter’s words have helped change, shape and at times save my life, since 2009. I love Peter. We Remember Peter
@Rootsgal thanks Kristine…
@joliebeanbag Thank you soooooooooo much!!!!
This is THE best tribute to Peter McWilliams out here! It is comprehensive, thought-provoking, and has so many other lovely touches! The song “Still” adds a poignancy to the images and film clips. So nice to see Peter McWilliams as a young man, with his family. Gorgeous job!
NICENESS keeps flowing and I know a special woman, (she knows who she is) that will sing the words we all think and feel….one love vibes continually to all~
@SneddyRocks thanks so much!!! keeps me going!!!
Very beuatiful and a message that all should hear…peace to all.
@Rootsgal thanks sooo much!!! he was gentle and so am i!!!!!! bless you what a nice thing to say.
What an amazing tribute…..gentle spirits come forward, we need many more~
@tomangelo09 thanks so much Tom! i am so glad LOVE 101 helped you. it’s a great book, isn’t it? i love how you describe his writing-you cover all the facets. his voice is quite gentle yet strong. i am glad you can finally hear it. i wish i had known him too. i’d give anything! but he still is with us in spirit. thank you back. love, the “curator of the online Peter McWilliams Museum.” 🙂
Peter’s “Love 101” helped get me thru a very rough time in my life; when I read it, in 1999, I had no idea how ill he was. I was saddened, a few years later, to learn he had died, and I was angered to learn the unnecessary suffering he endured in the final years of his life. His writing overflows with humor, compassion, and wisdom. I had always wondered what he sounded like, and now I have some idea. I wish I had known this man, and that he was still with us. Thank you, WeRememberPeter!
thanks for those comments. i don’t look at this 1300 number as being “sad” at all…if you share my video as a featured video on your channel, that will help bring the numbers up won’t it 🙂 and considering the video i saw that had quotes of Peter’s–we’re about to surpass their #s–that video has been up for YEARS and this one has only been up since Easter of THIS YEAR!! so if you look at it that way (focusing positively as Peter wrote about) it’s not so bad!
Eternal remembrance, sure if there’s someone spreading the word, and I’m glad that Julia is. But what saddens me most is: How light becomes dark. Here was a light to the world and only 1,300 people watched this. I got a million hits from taping Good Morning America – The Great Pacific Garbage Patch two years ago. That’s sad.
the laissez-faire comment is the best haha
@cardinalfan524 thanks Cardinal Fan—-we will always remember Peter!!!
Such a great and inspirational man. Never Forget!
@billstclair Thanks Bill! 🙂 thanks so much for writing about Peter in the first place!
Peter’s “Ain’t Nobody’s Business If You Do” was my introduction to libertarian thought. But I never met him. This video has given a wonderful view of a gentle soul, snuffed out by prohibition.
@phoenixtimes2 thanks so much….beautiful words of yours..
@cureworks thanks for noticing every aspect of this—you’re one of the few that picked out the images of him as a child as their favourite but i wanted bad to present Peter as a full person not just some idea…thank you again…
@DemonHide thanks so much Demon Hide. 🙂 i admire your writing as well and i’m so grateful you took the time to view this 🙂
Some people enter this world that hear a different tune than most and those people make all of our lives better. By speaking the language of their hearts, they help others discover their own. Peter was such a person.
I keep coming back to the ultimate, life changing wisdom, stop the drama before it happens “Why must I always fall for chicken shits on ego trips.” Doctor it hurts when i do this. Doctor responded: so don’t do that. Stop falling for chicken shit leadership and take your power back. We don’t have to keep on with stupid government policy. I nominate Peter McWilliams for saint hood in whatever churches of hemp exist today. Anything less is an abomination in my opinion. Stop the drug war now
@rotarianraj wow thanks Raj!!!
Superb tribute to Peter and it is so beautiful and lovely Julia! Your singing makes all the difference to make this tribute unique. God Bless you Julia and grant you with all that you want…. you make us remember Peter forever….Thanks once again!
Truly beautiful. It’s not just the words, it’s the power behind them that only Peter can evoke so completely! Makes you feel that things will be all right, even if they aren’t right now.
