The man behind Measure 74
Long-time medical marijuana activist Jim Klahr moved to the Winchuck River area in 1986 from Nevada after both his parents, who were living here, developed cancer. “I knew of my parents’ physical condition,” he said. “They both died of cancer in 1995 or ‘96 and 2001 or ‘02.” He said he was living in Smith River when California was beginning its medical marijuana program.
