Someone stole my USPS package?
I ordered a part for my car sent and it was delivered by USPS while I was away. My neighbor told me she remembered seeing it but then it disappeared. The seller had delivery confirmation and shows it was delivered. I live on the 2nd floor of a small condo complex and there are only 4 apartments…I strongly suspect my new neighbors, a bunch of young guys who make a lot of noise and are always smoking pot. Is there anything I can do in this case or am I screwed?
Was it insured? Call the Post Office.
Maybe you should order a box of cow poop and have it shipped the same way…..perhaps the butholes will steal that too.
You could jerry rig so it blows up when they open it?
I’d say that’d be worth the cost of the stolen auto part to see!
I thought UPS couldn’t deliver if it’s an apartment? I would report it to UPS and your car part Co. Plus the police.
after its delivered and signed for, its not their responsibility. there’s nothing you can do. in the future, you can specify who is allowed to sign for it, or you can just arrange to pick it up at the post office yourself.
You need to contact your Local Law Enforcment and Post Office. Stealing, Tampering, or Opening mail adressed to someont else is a Federal Offense
First of all stealing mail is a federal crime. File a police report and also a report with your local postal inspector. If you feel comfortable you might want to confront your neighbors about the situation. Knock on there door, explain what happened, ask if they know anything. Do not blame but let them know you have filed a report. You should also contact the seller and see if the item was insured. Again, if the item was covered you will have to file a report and the post office.
I don’t know about USPS, but Fed. Ex. actually writes down a description of whoever accepts the package. Perhaps you can find out who took it by back-tracking it that way. Good luck.
Make a report of mail theft to the US Postal Inspection Service.
