Should the United States government legalize & control recreational drugs?
If alcohol is legalized, why not marijuana and cocaine? Not advocating it, but it seems to me we could put our law enforcements’ time to better use.

I absolutely agree.
prohibition was this same struggle….. but for now to many lawyers, judges, jailbuilders and drug dealers oppose its legalization,,,, powerful people that lobby for their own profits…..
you are right,,,,,we would spend a lot less money policing people…
No. First we should make THE gateway drug – TOBACCO – illegal to possess or manufacture. Then alcohol.
ALCOHOL, DRUGS AND POLICE ARE KILLING OUR PEOPLE.
No. Alcohol does not normally have the same impact on a person’s morals as drugs do. Whether they are recreational or not, when people take drugs, they start to involve themselves in other illegal activities, and start making bad life decisions.
Now, alcohol does lessen some people’s inhibition, and cause relationship problems and DUI, generally it does not lead to theft, and other worse crimes.
i agree with you alchol kill people the ones who drink they drive and kill
If using drugs is your idea of recreation, then you really need to get a life. Try dropping the blunts in the trash can and use your hands for something that is healthy for your brain- like reading books.
No. Aren’t alcohol, nicoteine and caffeine enough? It is like asking, “Not that I’m advocating, but shouldn’t we just abolish laws all together? There are so many things we could do with the money saved.” OK, a little extreme I admit. But you get my drift.
If an inebriated person is caught driving while high or on alcohol, my thoughts are they should never be allowed to drive ever again in the Continental United States on the Three Strikes Rule! NO NO NO NO drugs should Never EVER be legalized, except for medicinal purposes and even they should not be allowed to drive while under the influence!
Nicotine and caffeine are legal substances and do not cause people to drive vehicles irresponsibly or dibilitate thinking processes.
