Questions on becoming a pharmacist, I need major help!!?
Background Info: Im 20 years old and recieved an Associates Degree from a local community college with classes emphasizing business and political science. But! I have had a complete change of heart and would like to become a pharmacist!
I know getting into pharmacy school is very heard!! And I have only ever taken one chem class in high school (but I LOVED IT!!) do you think it is still possible for me? I am confused on the route to take…
FYI: I would like to ultimately open a pharmacy in California and help supply medical marijuana (I am a staunch supporter it is why I decided to major in politics originally) and also would love to have a 100K salary to support my future family!! Oh and I <3 to travel =) thanks i hope get answers soon =)
Try to get into a college that has a pharmacy school i.e. Ohio State, major in a science, like chemistry, do good get into the Pharmacy school. Graduate. The associates degree won’t help cause it has nothing to do with pharmacy. Good luck!
You’re ~40 years old. Not too late to finish a PharmD in your late 40s, but you’d better hurry up.
“Medical Marijuana” is just a cover to legitimize recreational use. Nobody is fooled (any more).
Getting into pharmacy school is very HARD. It takes a lot of hard work and requires a strong math and science background. Not everyone gets into pharmacy school on their first try either. Many more are rejected than accepted. Its not impossible though. Pharmacy school is very competitive and requires years of coursework and then interships as well. And the licensing and board exams afterwards are tough. If you really want it though, I say go for it but know what it is that you are getting into.
