Seems California is the same as the rest of the country, 56% stupid.
If cali fails then its their own fault for not raising awareness and getting people to vote. It’s a damn shame..
ill smoke comfortably up here in Canada
Latest poll shows prop 19 is headed for defeat.
meh more like 10s of millions to hundreds… it won’t be the cure all but it can’t hurt.
The people that take marijuana for medical purposes do not know how to respond to death! Recreational marijuana should be for anyone 21 and older who has to money to do so!
And I’m sorry, but stop comparing marijuana to other drugs like cocaine and X drugs!! Their chemical makeups are different!!
1:40 No- You’re getting the point, here! It WILL create billions of dollars in revenue and all you care about is “OH NO, it will introduce us to harder drugs, LA LA LA LA LA!!!”
Tony, you suck.
Weed, you rock.
Besides, even if marijuana was a gateway drug, legalization would decrease this effect because the whole point is that since it’s illegal, it leads to open mindedness towards other illegal drugs. But if you’re a half intelligent person, you won’t decide to do dangerous drugs, whether you’ve smoked weed or not.
Toke.
@Snuggleumpakis
worse then that much worse
If it was legal do you think he would need to get it from “shady individuals”? Of course not. The news media must assume that everyone is an idiot and won’t think about this logically.
Pot didn’t “introduce” him to anything. He’s making an excuse because he can’t take responsibility for his own life. People make choices, drugs don’t. Weed didn’t hold a gun to his head and make him try harder drugs. His OWN personality compelled him to do so. Not everyone that tries weed goes on to harder drugs… they are just for the time being, sold by the same people BECAUSE they are all illegal. The “gateway drug” theory is as absurd as a “gateway fruit” theory would be.
Wow this contains propaganda. Tony needs a legal source (after his 21st birthday )
YES on 19
@lourak
it is already everywhere. There is a 21 age restriction like alcohol.
@lourak honestly, I think that use will increase most for those 30-45 years old. Those in their 20’s are much more likely to already know how to get it if they want it.
@Cutlass253 What you say seems reasonable – but let’s think this through together. Remember my supposition: that “more young people will have access to it”. Let’s stay with young people for now. Granted, youngsters who are now using, will continue to use. But what about those youngsters who don’t use for moral reasons (illegal activity) or because of the high cost of the substance. Won’t legalization make it less of a “sin” – and the inevitably lowered cost make it more accessible?
@lourak legalization will absolutely not increase access to children. Unlike drug dealers, people who sell marijuana will have to check ID’s, and will have a lot to lose by selling to minors. The access to adults over 21 will be increased, but in California marijuana is essentially decriminalized anyway, meaning that most people that would smoke marijuana already do. Prop 19 will simply allow local government to decide if they want to allow stores to sell marijuana.
vote YES
It seems highly likely that with the legalization of marijuana, more young people will have access to it. Is that good or bad for society?
