Prop 19: A state of stoners?
November isn’t far away the Proposition 19 in California just might be the most explosive political decision this year. It calls to legalize, regulate, control and tax Cannabis Act of 2010. So will California, turn into a state of stoners, more so than it already is? Chief Kim Raney, Police Chief of Covina, CA explains that this initiative that has no intention to tax or regulate so that’s why so many people are against this ‘poorly written initiative.’ Allen St. Pierre, Executive Director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws debates that we shouldn’t blame the state for being foolish from collecting some kind of revenue.
@cloudshe
How can you condone spending 50 billions dollars a year incarcerating harmless people for a victimless crime, IE smoking cannabis.
That money could go to healthcare, law enforcement, charity, and even drug awareness, but no, your the fucking jackass that wants to spend multi billions USELESSLY TRYING to incarcerate millions for doing something that doesnt effect others negatively in any way.
Your a fucking ignorant idiot thats easily indoctrinated into believing bullshit.
@cloudshe
Drug dealers dont ask for ID, and frankly. there everywhere and in every single highschool there will be kids that know drug dealers and start a networking system throughout the school for kids that want drugs.
How many people will buy alcohol for kids?
Legalization WILL restrict access to kids.
I never said a single thing about hard drugs, but if you insist on believing the irrational “gateway theory”, then you know that liquor stores dont sell “hard drugs”, but drug dealers do
@cloudshe
Operating heavy machinery while intoxicated and endangering others safety is a crime, and should carry punishment by law, but using cannabis is not endangering anyone’s safety.
Obviously if you had a job in which other people had to rely on you for there safety, you wouldn’t be allowed to use cannabis you jackass, I never even insinuated that.
And yes, ask any kid whats easier to get, cannabis or alcohol, they will all tell you cannabis!
@PhuckAllYouPeople would you still ban pilots, truck drivers, heavy machinery operators, the military fm pot use? would that be fair? and what about all those folks living on the edge, just one more easy way to escape reality. and you think the hard drug problem will be insignificant? and impaired driving would not increase? and use among adolescents would be no worse than now?
you have nerve calling others retarded, imo you don’t really care about any consequences, your addiction rules
Check the movie called “Grass” for a little insight on how the Feds made it illegal.
@PhuckAllYouPeople @PhuckAllYouPeople restricted access? they would have Less access to MJ if it was legal for adults? has the dope affected your logic??? maybe i haven’t kept up, but where were all those 14 yr olds getting their alcohol a few years back? from fake id cards?
sad that you want More access to MJ for kids rather than less, i don’t see any good in that. and i believe the jury is still out on how many folks will have big problems with dealing with their lives due to MJ
@cloudshe
(READ MY OTHER COMMENT FIRST)
So let me see, theres absolutely no rational reason to why it should remain illegal.
Reasons it should be legal; Restricted access to minors, we save multi billions from not having to attempt incarcerating over a 100 million harmless cannabis users, and we take the majority of profit away from cartels and gangs, and the tax revenue would bring in multi billions fixing are economy.
Your fucking retarded if you oppose legalization.
@cloudshe
You did read my other comment right? I just told you that its easier for kids to get cannabis rather then alcohol, and I gave you the reasons why cannabis is easier for kids to get then alcohol.
And yes its true, cannabis cannot force you to commit a crime or drive a car.
Should you drive and eat cheeseburgers, should you drive and jack off, should you drive and watch the in-car-tv?
No, but you cannot ban something for everyone because a select few jackasses are not responsible.
@PhuckAllYouPeople sorry you missed the point about the statistics/logic, which falsely showed that ZERO harm came fm MJ. is This why we All know that MJ is so safe, you would never drive impaired, never fall down the stairs, never do something stupid with a gun? right. oh darn, you told me not to say that
it’s a shame that there would be such a vacuum in our world without MJ, ain’t it great so many folks are fighting for the right for adolescents to toke up turn on & drop out
@cloudshe
“using your logic and stats, maybe child rape should be legal, as long as the child isn’t killed”
Theres two ENORMOUS GIGANTIC GARGANTUAN difference in what you said.
Smoking weed is a absolutely victimless crime, whoever smokes weed is only harming themselves and no one else, child rape, is well you know, CHILD RAPE.
And I dont want to hear a bullshit reply because I know whats coming, guess what, cannabis cannot force you to commit a crime or get in a car and drive.
@cloudshe
Ask any teenager whats easier to get, alcohol or cannabis, they will all tell you cannabis.
Drug dealers dont ask for ID, and frankly. there everywhere and in every single highschool there will be kids that know drug dealers and start a networking system throughout the school for kids that want drugs.
How many people will buy alcohol for kids?
Same with cannabis, kids would have restricted access to it if it was legal, you should think about that before opening you mouth, idiot.
@Clyaton there will be just as many people saying “it ain’t harmful to our youth” that are now saying let’s make it legal for adults. there Will be no harsh penalties. heck, maybe even the old cigarette machine will come back, making it even easier for kids to get their pot. think of the tax revenue!!!
seriously tho, why would the penalties be any stiffer than they are now? another problem is, CA’s educational stats are so low now, pot use may not make any diff
@Clyaton just saying it don’t make it so, amigo. the old debate used to be, when parents smoked and drank in front of their kids, it legitimized it. maybe not Every kid bought into that, but many I knew did. there will be a new definition for the words “High School” and “Junior High” mark my words
@Clyaton maybe you’re assuming that there is no political pressure from casual users of MJ, which apparently are everywhere in our society. when’s the last time our President got up and said: “let’s kick the habit, or we’re gonna bust you, Americans get on board”? Bush 1 was the last no-holds-barred drug warrior, actually looked like we were winning.
now we are a nation of spoiled whiners: “i want my dope”!!!
@Mrmexicanamericano using your logic and stats, maybe child rape should be legal, as long as the child isn’t killed
okay, maybe you don’t see the connection! once MJ is legalized, THEN we will see the actual costs. “hey dude, wanna try some boss crack?”
@JKing585 congratulations! you apparently have the determination and discipline to do something with your life!
when i was in HS it was popular to smoke & on the WE we would score some beer or hard stuff. most of us got college degrees & had successful careers. some of our group dabbled in pot and, as i recall, they all had tuff times with their lives. just my experience
@ctvls13 reality is, experts on one side say ‘no harm will be done’ and on the other ‘the social costs will be tremendous’. did your stepfather go right fm alcohol to heroin?
the US has spent over 70 years trying to minimize the bad effects of alcohol. New Ball Game! my biggest concern is how this will give kids an excuse for failing in their lives, it’s already a giant problem

corona chief is way in the dark…..wake up…..damn.
pot is soooooo scary……get over it man.
ITS A NO BRAINER….STUDY PROHIBITION….A MISERABLE FAILURE…LEGAL POT..IS WAAAAAY OVER DUE…AND I DONT EVEN USE IT NOW…..COME ON PEEPS..THINK
Oh, and unlike other drugs, marijuana causes virtually no social harm. Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean more people will do it.. More people will for awhile perhaps, but statistics and drug laws around the world show that the prohibition increases use, because the profit incentive is so high for newly created drug dealers. We had an 18th amendment and a 21st for a reason, and this was a MORE harmful drug. You lose anyway we look at the issue.
The war on drugs costs over 1 trillion bux in the last 40 years. $16.5 Billion so far this year alone. The fact that legalizing it and regulating it gets rid of tons of unneeded costs, doesn’t make college students lose their college funding. 1 in 2 approximately of college students try or smoke pot. This is like the lottery for ruined and fucked up lives. Many people can’t get their dream job after only one conviction. This is bull shit, it needs to stop. every1 knows the drug war failed
@cloudshe Then you are just another fascist who can’t accept it. In places where laws are most lenient/decriminalized such as Portugal and Amsterdam, use is DOWN, MUCH LOWER. Those are the facts.. So if you want less people to do it, you legalize it, and outlaw advertisements and treat it like alcohol and cig’s. ANYONE can get pot, including the youth. Legalizing it, puts stiff penalties that are no longer worth selling to the youth. Just like alcohol.. It will still happen, but LESS.
@cloudshe yer wrong man im 15 and i smoke almost everynight before bed and in the mornings. i had to stop for a couple months cuz my mom busted me and in that time i never experienced drastic withdrawl symptoms. did i WANT it bad? of course. did i NEED it? not at all.i still hold a 90 GPA at my high school and at no point in all of my pot smoking have i ever contemplated messing around with other drugs. it doesnt lead you on to harder stuff and is not addictive. get yer shit straight
@cloudshe On your first arguement, Americans were kept in the dark on alot of their products. I mean, come on, back then everybody smoked and didn’t know how bad it was for you and Camel’s were “doctor reccomended” cigarettes. On your second arguement, my stepfather was a heroin addict, and I have witnessed first hand what a REAL drug addict can do to someone and their family. I dont think marijuana “addicts’ would steal items from their home and go trade them for marijuana.
