Steve Fox is quoted supporting the taxation and regulation of marijuana in the wake of attorney general Eric Holder’s announcement that the federal government would continue to enforce national marijuana laws even if Proposition 19 passes. 10/15/2010

the gov worry about the growing public support for marijuana because they have contracts with the alcohol and tobacco companies to keep only those drugs legal.
As long as they have these contracts marijuana won’t get legalized on a federal level, at least not for recreational use. For medicinal use the issue is a little more complicated.
@crashtestkarma nope ur right. did you know we could be using plastic made from marijuana (hemp) to make the body for cars and it would be lighter ( = more fuel efficient) and take more abuse ( = safer cars) but because of the fact its made from the cannabis family we cant make them
I’d bet that if an inventor developed a car that ran on marijuana and got 500 MPG (miles per gram), the government would have them killed, burn the plans, and pot would still be illegal……….anyone think I’m wrong?…..anyone?
How well said!!!! I love this video just for that quote at the end.
Fuckin police officers have plenty of other things to do to ‘keep their jobs’. Besides, in a legal cannabis state, police would still have to enforce regulations such as they do for alcohol. There wouldnt be a loss of jobs for cops(like we dont already have a ton of cops with nothing to do…), since while enforcing those legal cannabis regulations, there would still be much other, more dangerous criminal activity to focus on.
Theoretically in a democratic country with a Constitution, it’s the whole population to vote on what is best for them and not is not (aka what should be legal, allowed, and what should be banned”. Theory though is a fucking illusion, because the only people who make decisions are the ones with money and power. And guess what? They ain’t gonna make decisions for the “good of everyone” no matter how nice they are, they are gonna act in their own self-fucking-interests and fuck everyone else.
Government by the people for the people? The power of the vote is ultimately in the hands of those who count them. It seems what the people want doesn’t matter. Even if the people wanted 100% it it wouldn’t pass?? The government is in control. Welcome to the new world order.
Sheriff Lee Baca:
He has been criticized for proposing a half-percent sales tax increase in 2004 to hire more deputy sheriffs, placing friends on the payroll, taking of gifts and for releasing inmates from the Los Angeles County Jail.
Baca stated at a press conference “19, even if voted in by 100 percent of the voters of California, it will not pass”
Baca also made an appearance on a Scientology float in a 2004
Cops make all the laws? Citizens are not allowed to vote to change any laws unless they want to ban something new that they can be arrested for? Oh wait, thats right, citizens don’t vote to ban things, they just do that on their own so they have more people to arrest. Is it not clear who is spreading the propaganda for their own personal benefit at the expense of others?
Sheriff Baca’s Salary for 2010 is $284,183 (wikipedia)
i cant take this shit anymore prohibition is ruining my life im 14 and im in and out of jail for failing fucking ua’s when all these real criminals are running around fucking with ecstacy and commiting violent crimes n shit ive never hurt anyone in my life but it sure seems like the injustice system likes hurting me and making my family spend 900 dollars a week to put me in rehab..FOR A FUCKING PLANT! i cant take this shit anymore either i stop and they win, or our country could thrive from herb
So the Sheriff in effect saying California will be suppressed no matter it’s vote? So the will of the voters mean nothing? In essence it “us against them” mentality.
Well this is a bad mentality to have while holding an office where you are supposed to serve people (not serve them subpoenas). This Sheriff really should not be in office as he is not fit on the local level. Maybe he would fit better on the federal level.
2012 is soon to be here, and it’ll be better next time

How depressing…the election was probably fixed anyway

Aren’t these officials not supposed to “tell” voters how to vote?
