MMJ Closet ScrOG – 15 plants – 250w
Started late 2008, this legal medical grow set-up was used for about a year on 2 month harvest cycles. The strain is unknown, so I called it Mudbud. It’s looks good, but the buds were not very tasty. It makes great edibles and honey oil though. Averaged 5.5oz per harvest dried Eventually I got a clone of BC God, but only did one cycle with it before moving to The Barn. (see my other videos)

For most casual growers who might be looking at this set-up for ideas, it would be wise to consider the heat issues related to putting 600w into a space that measures 2’x3’x4′. Also keep in mind the “ideal” watt/sq ft is about 50. A 400w light would equal 66w per sq ft. in this particular closet space. 600w would be 100w per sq ft., a bit overkill and throw in related heat issues & it doesn’t make sense.
I guarantee if you would upgrade to a 600w hps for 12/12 and you flowered 6 plants and vegged 8 plants at the same time at say a 60 day flower period replacing the flowering plants with the best 6 of 8 vegging plants and topped the whole way through vegging you could easily get 12-18oz per harvest.
Mommas looking good too

I barely got it dialed in before moving to a new location, but average was 1oz per sq ft every two months for a total of about 6oz dry weight. There was room for lots of improvements that would have increased that though.
@LEGNEDARYTUNEZ
i kept records of how long each stage took, such as time from cut till roots, when repotted, etc. Over time I was able to really nail down exactly when to cut clones so the girls would be as ready as could be as soon as harvest was done. They would fill out the screen fairly quickly if I had it right, minimizing the time required. Starting the clock from when roots popped, about 50 days till they were flipped to 12/12. 60 days in flwr give or take a few. 1 gallon pots
awsome how much was the yield?
HOW LONG DID U GROW BEFORE YOU SWITCH TO THE BLOOMING PHASE?
ALSO HOW BIG ARE POTS YOUR USING?
THANKS
yeah if the plant has roots it is considered a plant so if u take clones that havent rooted yet and ur about to harvest your coo.
damn everybody is doing this shit now a days… im a rookie but ill be all american material in about 6 months…
@MMJGrowWoof For example, w/ the 1st plants seen, imagine instead of growing vertical, the main stem grew horizontal (have to tie it down at 1st), w/ each node rooting as it grew. Imagine 10x root mass + light very close to all leaves + using my special worm-castings compost = wowowowow. chanting down babylon! yeah mon!
@MMJGrowWoof I’m a lawyer, but know nothing about WA law (disclaiming legal advice here!) My uninformed opinion… I envisioned one main stem being rooted at each node, the branches then growing up to the screen, being stressed with a bend, before budding.it should be obvious that it’s 1 plant, roots along the stem. I spent 6 months making worm-casting compost to try this. Had to give it away – mom had heart attack & I moved in, canceled my new job at grow farm. Saw guy who got my compost (cont)
@Marleyites
I totally agree, more roots = more fruits. I honestly have never considered doing Air layering to add root mass. I know that it’s used by some folks to make clones. Since part of the key issue here in Washington state is plant count. medical patients cannot have more than 15 per person total. I wonder if another rooted branch is then considered a new plant, thus putting ya over limit. Just a thought.

During winter the temps were a tad low when lights were off, so all it took was the heating pad in that small space to help get it right. Same with humidity, it was just minor adjustment for the veg/clones, not so much for the upper flower chamber. The CO2 was just a sort of easy bonus without any effort. I wouldn’t bother with a full on system for such a small space.
@denise0jb
That grow was using Fox Farm ocean forest soil. Since the soil is rich, not much ferts was needed in veg. Seaweed and worm tea was given to suppliment early, then mild Pure Blend Grow if a boost was needed. I used Botonicare Pureblend Pro Bloom in flower. Some molasses in the final feeding before flushing. My current feeding regime is far different, but the plants are much larger, and I’ve moved more toward soilless since moving out of the closet ScrOG.
what wrer you feeding them fa t girls an what soil or soil less???GREAT JOB
very nice brah sad to hear the buds didnt taste so well …. but where they at least bomb ?? and i bet u would have gotten just as good of a yield without the co2 lil bottle u got without the heating pad and without the bucket full of towns to raise moisture
@MMJGrowWoof Beautiful grow, MMJ! Have you ever considered a scrog system that also includes growing branches horizontal & rooting them (branches) at the 1st few nodes to increase root mass? I think this system will cure the problem you mention above, “…possibility yield can be enhanced, but certainly with some trade-offs. Slowed growth, smaller cola’s”. I had white widow rooting like this but had to ditch. Was doing great, too. Root mass is critical & my theory is that mo root, mo betta.
That’s good shit man 😉 ! I like your grow 🙂
beautiful buds

i personally feel topping can be used as a tool for controlling growth pattern, and in particular height. There is possibility yield can be enhanced, but certainly with some trade-offs. Slowed growth, smaller cola’s, (but more of them) I feel one of the benefits of LST (Low Stress Training) is an effect similar to topping, but without causing the delay in growth while they recover. I currently am topping some strains once early on in Veg to boost the side branching, then use LST.
Do you believe that topping the plant = higher yield?

@MMJGrowWoof Exactly. Thanks!
