Medical marijuana, why is it sold at special dispensaries instead of regular pharmacies?
I would think California and the government would want to regulate its sale just like other cancer drugs.

The federal government does regulate it. It’s a schedule I drug, and it’s illegal for a pharmacy to sell it. California and any other states can pass all the laws they want, but that doesn’t make marijuana legal. Pharmacies can hardly survive without DEA licensure, so they’d be nuts to run afoul of the DEA. The theory of state nullification of federal law was finally settled by the Civil War, and it’s absurd to think that liberal California would argue for states’ rights the way South Carolina and Mississippi did in the past. It’s just too right-wing to pass muster.
It is an illegal drug. No pharmacy will risk its license to carry it. Marijuana has no efficacy in treating cancer. It causes cancer. Most retail pharmacies do not carry many cancer drugs because they are mostly given by IV.
because pharmacies are licensed to dispense drugs in schedules 2 through 5.
Marijuana is a schedule I.
