Medical marijuana for seniors (Dec 2009)
Walnut Creek city council is considering legalization of medical marijuana dispensaries. In this three-minute speech at Walnut Creek, California’s city council 12-1-09 public meeting, Rossmoor resident Gilbert Doubet describes the benefits of medical marijuana, especially for seniors. Doubet then urges council members to legalize, regulate and tax MMJ dispensary operation. Rossmoor is a 9000-member gated senior community within the city. Its 6500 homes and 2200 acres comprise approximately 15% of the municipal electorate. Currently, Walnut Creek is studying the issue of sanctioning dispensaries.
