Legalizing marijuana in California in November 2010 question?
If the voters in California vote in November, for legalizing marijuana, and it passes, is there anything that could be done to stop it or does it just become law? I think it’s a great idea. I don’t smoke it as of now, but I used to 10 years ago. If it becomes legal here, I will smoke it, considering I am 28 year old man with a knee replacement and severe arthritis, and it does relive arthritis pain.
Come on New York, let’s catch up with those darned West-Coasters, with their effective Progressivism!
I don’t smoke, but there is NO REASON NOT to legalize it!
Like alcohol prohibition in the 1920s, “trying” to make marijuana illegal has failed completely in the US ! Legal or not, MANY people are using it. The only people benefiting are criminals, artificially raising prices, and making for an unsafe situation as criminals become wealthier and more empowered. Also, our prisons are full of people who have committed marginal offenses (such as possession of MJ) because “Conservatives” believe they can legislate morality.
Alcohol causes many more deaths per year than MJ; if MJ is illegal, alcohol should also be illegal (you can’t have it both ways, Cons !)
Legalizing and TAXING MJ, just like alcohol, would give much-needed revenue to governments who are in dire need of funds, put many criminals out of business, and free our prison and court systems for serious criminals.
If you agree, WRITE YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS. If you don’t know who they are, use http://www.congress.org and enter your ZIP. Also, if you agree, do NOT vote Republican.
I don’t know but it does wonders for my back pain. i have 3 fused vertebrae and i hate pain medication it’s non addictive does not kill brain cells and is not cancerous if it is vaporized or made into edibles, brownies cookies….
But the DEA would have a huge problem with that. Although i believe it falls under states rights.
Awesome idea. I have been hooked on oxycodone for years from 3 surgery’s and marijuana is a non addicting effective pain killer. If I would have had that rather than tons of oxycodones I would never had to go to a methadone clinic for a year. By the way Im a 29 year old man with a hip replacement.
I quit smoking, but I wont ruin it for those who still do, hope it passes
Unfortunately it is against federal law, so it will probably have to go to the supreme court, who will not allow it. GO OUT AND VOTE you never know what could happen.
I think it is cool, that we are gonna stop putting people in jail for minor possession of weed, but I am Mexican and I really want marijuana to be legalized so we can put the mexican drug cartels out of Business, if you haven’t heard mexico has become more dangerous than “Iraq”, with children turned into drug mules, decapitations, bombings and mass murders. All of that make me want to take 70% of the drug cartels cash out of there hands and in the hands of the state. WE NEED to pass this, so OBAMA does not go to war against the Mexican drug cartels, but that’s just an excuse for the government to get the U.S military into mexico and occupy it just like Iraq and oppress us mexicans(more than we already are oppressed) The U.S Drug czar does not want to end the drug war not violently, because he will lose money, that us tax payers are giving him,(think about it) Obama just want to start WAR Because WAR makes money for the Banks, and that is who Obama is actually Working For. Ask Freeway Ricky ross.
We dont have to fight violence With Violence, but with our minds…
If you live in california Legalize Marijuana and Save the children of mexico from this Hell the drug cartels made in mexico. (stop being selfish and thinking only about your children and syaing “I dont want it legalized becuase i dont want my child to smoke weed” Well maybe its is your fualt that your a bad parent?
