Legalization Of Marijuana?
i saw on another Y/A post about weed that its a toxic meterial and a danger to yourself and others lol. people are stupid. quit acting queer about it. If you dont approve of weed then thats fine but to make it sound like a threat to human society WTF!!!! LOL makes me laugh actually. I personally support the Legalization Of Marijuana in california which is proposition 19. So there it is, its pretty obvious I support that but I wanna see what people think. Comment on this supporting your belief of legalizing it/or keeping it illegal even if your not from california, would you APPROVE/DISSAPROVE this idea. No ones judging so go head and post what you believe
to the person right below me- you are absolutely right. I will not lie, I do partake in the herb but I do believe in punishment for being stupid with it. You brought on a good point about testing to see if someone actually is high. People could get away from driving under the influence because of no testing sources. I like the answer.
Before I say anything, thanks for being one of the first people I’ve seen on here not complain about the legality of alcohol and cigarettes.
It’s not as bad as people try to make it out to be, but it’s not as harmless as other people make it out to be. I think once there is a test to determine the exact time that someone has been using marijuana (similar to the tests for bac), then we can talk about legality, so that public intoxication or people who are driving under the influence can be punished accordingly.
NO!
i think our gov. leaders been doing it for a long time look how they act and vote then you have calf. whooo why out there broke but want to spend money on naming a new rock for the state how much that cost
The legalization of marijuana would be better for society, but would probably be a long and hard process. First if it get legalized, what do we do with those in jail or prison because of posession, use, or distribution of marijuana? At the time when they were jailed it was illegal but do they get let out once it is legalized (so long as they didn’t have a violent crime too)? Then the state would have to have to “control” the substance in one way or another and enforce the new laws around the legalization. Distributors would have to get “licensed by the state” to distribute which would cost the distributor money, or maybe they should have to donate a small percentage of their “product” to hospitals (Medicinal Marijuana). Then sales taxes, which people can lie (tax evasion), but then the IRS gets involved, audits, lawsuits, and possible jail time even though the drug is legal. Then what about public intoxication? It is kind of annoying with kids too high to order food but won’t shut up about how hungry they are, and they just waste time bothering staff and other customers. It would be easier to go to a cafe that serves joints and hash brownies *and* other food to satisfy their customers. But that is a social thing; Legally, they’d have to be able to measure how much was in your system and if you are above a certian level that is deemed inappropriate. Just like alcohol .08 for driving.
The FDA would have to do *more* research on it.
The Department of Agriculture would have a booming time with this cash crop!!! (But what keeps kids from stealing it?) We probably would have to invest in “underground” facilities, but who would run them? Someone who knows about marijuana from experience? Or FDA text book knowledge about marijuana?
I have no idea who would be able to create a system to make everything fit together and work.
Really the only reason i can see for keeping it illegal is that kids if left uneducated will consider it ”somewhat alright ie healthy” to use as its legal.
Marijuana isn’t as healthy as users claim it to be nor is it as bad as opposition claim it to be, at the very least legalisation will mean more funds & a free thinking science community to study into it without fear of isolation or loss of reputation etc.
However obviously certain regulations have to be put up such as
selling near schools
age restrictions
enforced fines etc against underage abusers
somewhat cheaper & of better quality than off a dealer etc etc
