bull crap Ive been smoking weed since i was 16 teen and haven’t got hooked on any other drugs. Ive tried Ex one or twice and didn’t really like it as much as weed so that guy is living in the past, this isn’t the 70/80’s buddy we need to legalize it so like the guy said kids under age can’t get it as easy no more
the sheriff in the video is not a moron he knows pot is not going to make you go wacky and kill your wife. He also know with out pot being illegal its a big chunk out of the money law enforcement gets to enforce it maybe that is why all leap members are usally retired they dont care if the get laid off anymore
@dsessom Trust me I know about the black market. I grew up in the projects in the 1980’s. In my experience there are two groups most fearful of legalization of any drugs, the police and the dealers. Luckily at least there are people who, while they can’t say anything while they are in the system, come out and join LEAP to let everyone know how broken it is. And its the same lame bullshit when all they can do is accuse you of having used drugs instead of coming up with anything real.
California residents, you have the chance to be the first group of people in the world to legalize marijuana for responsible adult use. When you go to vote on prop 19, take a friend with you. Drag one other person with you. If everyone does this we get double the votes!
Then, find someone who is against pot legalization and convince them to stay home that day. Tell them something great is on the TV that day, buy them tickets to a show, anything guys
@hibraisil
I am a LEAP speaker in Oklahoma. I do not smoke weed. I don’t even drink except rare occasions. Supporting legalization does NOT equal condoning its use. I fully support Prop 19 because people are going to use it whether it is legal or not. The black market that has been created in the past 40 years is FAR more destructive than any drug could ever be. Patriotic is a great way to look at it. You want a safer society? Legalize marijuana. Kill the black market.
Sheriff Lee Baca is a moron. I was a Deputy Sheriff and a Corrections Officer. I do not smoke weed, but fully support Prop 19. Anyone who thinks that only marijuana users support legalization is simply ignorant. I support legalization for several reasons. 1. To get rid of the black market which is responsible for so much violence. 2. To greatly reduce prison populations. 3. To end a great number of cruel search and seizure raids. 4. To make it harder for kids to get it.
I expect that there are Mormons claiming that caffeinated beverages, or tobacco cigarettes, are gateway drugs because studies show that most people who use heroin have used caffeinated beverages and/or tobacco prior in their lives. The case against marijuana as a gateway drug is just as flimsy, with one exception: if you have to buy it illegally, you are more likely to have to go to someone who sells other illegal substances. Legalization fixes that problem.
all due respect judge i mean that too, but your wrong, there will still be guys selling as before to kids. that will happen for one reason! payback for the years of the drug war you guys supported i say prop 19 yes and then you ex cop fuckers get the fuck out of the picture. it not your plant to play shepard so with all due respect fuck the hell off. you put alot of guys away and only had the balls to speakout after retirement
you were a coward sir. you WERE a fukn coward get lost after november
Legalizing cannabis does NOT add a new drug to society, because it’s already there and it won’t go away. In fact, having marijuana legal will decrease the number of alcoholics because some will become marijuana addicts instead, which is a good thing, since the cannabinoids are nowhere near the toxicity level of alcohol. The vast majority of consumers (~90%) aren’t going to develop any problematic use pattern anyway just as with alcohol. This scare mongering bs the prohibitionists is just BS!
The notion of cannabis being THE gateway drug is not correct, because every drug (whether legal or not) can act as a gateway drug. Whether a drug acts as a gateway drug or not is not due to pharmacology but to its social status. This gateway effect is just an illusion to the observer just as the illusion of the sun revolving around the earth because it goes up in the east and down in the west.
I smoke weed.
I’ve never smoked crack or meth, never shot heroin, never dropped acid or e.
Nor do I ever intend to.
Why does my pot smoking make me a candidate to black tar heroin use?
“and i suspect they might have hit a joint or two” what a fucking retard. anyone who is open minded and a reasonable person can see how the war on marijuana is an obvious failure.
the only reason is a gate way drug is cause it is illegal you get run ricks using cannabis then using crack cause it lasts much longer in you blood so if you smoked 20days before & then get tested you would fail making it the worse drug to use when you are working cause you risk your job also when you buy off the streets dealers introduce other hardcore drugs cannabis is safe & is the drug of choice for most is not all people over Tobacco & alcohol.
(YES TO PROP 19)
Alcohol and tobacco kills thousands of people every year, this is proven.
There is no proof that marijuana itself can kill anyone. Since marijuana is so much safer than alcohol and tobacco, maybe we should be encouraging people to smoke it instead.

Mmmm, patriotic is a nice angle =D
I, of course, wholeheartedly agree…
I smoke weed.
I’ve never smoked crack or meth, never shot heroin, never dropped acid or e.
Nor do I ever intend to.
Why does my pot smoking make me a candidate to black tar heroin use?
same old tired bullshit arguments. I would love to see LEAP record a real response to his accusation that they used the stuff.
