Landlord Liability for prop 215 certified cannabis cultivation by tenant in CA?
I would never evict a good tenant but I am also concerned that my tenant may not care if my property is seized by the federal government. “Don’t ask, don’t tell” works for me unless my property is in jeopardy of forfeiture. Are their any other ways to protect myself rather than claim to not know that my property was being used to cultivate medical marijuana? Could getting a 420 card of my own solve the problem?
With this situation it’s a combination of homeowners ins and ignorance.
Ignorance is your best defense.
The Fed’s have been given an executive order to back the effe up, they’re only really after the large profiteers or dispensaries not in compliance with the rules ETC.
While the government could technically seize the property, the chances of this happening even if caught, slim to none, they would just fine the tenant ect. Having a card yourself would have no effect on anything related to your tenant.
I wish I could get my hands on one of those cards : )
Ranger you’re complete idiot, you sound like you should go on those 50’s anti weed documentaries and mention how men will grow breasts.
“Tenants who smokes weed are by default not good tenants. ” Completely moronical statement and shows how ignorant you really are.
Go tell Michael Phelps that while he’s holding the Olympic medals, see how that goes, k?
I rent. Let me tell you this:
Tenants who smokes weed are by default not good tenants. Evict him. If I were his neighbor, then I would want you to evict him.
I live in CA. If terminal cancer and AIDS patients want to smoke pot then I can buy that. But there are no other medical reasons to smoke weed. Prop. 215 is out of control. There are people smoking Ganga who don’t have terminal illnesses. Give me a break.
My two former neighbors used to smoke ganga from Antigua or so they said it was from Antigua. It made them freak out and get all loud and rowdy. I could not sleep at night because they were making noise.
Stay away from the Antiguan Ganga. It’s wicked.
