Is it possible for me to get my property back after police seized it during the execution of a search warrant?
My property was seized by the police when they executed a search warrant. I was charged with a misdemeanor, possession of marijuana. My question is whether or not i can retain my property and what measures I would need to go to accomplish this?

It depends on what the property is.
If the property is illegal by itself or used in an illegal means, it will be destroyed.
If it is legal, it can be returned as soon as your case has been through court and it is no longer needed for evidence.

Some items may have not been seized but forfeited under civil law. Then you need to go to the civil hearing that must be held for the department or county to keep and sell the items. If it was a forfeit you received a date for the hearing.
