obviously the people behind the filming wouldn’t want anyone to know if the pot actors are smoking is real, but I was wondering if there’s such thing as fake weed?
i’m just curious how they make that work and if they have a lot of legal issues to deal with?

having worked in both film and tv as well as theatre where pot scenes happened (hmm wierd career choices for me, eh?)
i can say usually :
A) they just use tobacco or herbal tobacco
or
B) they use loose black tea.
both burn in the appropriate way.
You would never EVER use a real drug on a set, not because of the illegality, but the way it dulls your senses and makes you look, the scene you played would be unusable.
Especially if you had to repeat the take 30 times, then another 30 for reverse angles.
It’s not fake and it’s not real. It’s a substitute that is completely different. I can’t remember what it is called.
That depends on who and where.
If your in Canada or California its probably real bud.
Also if your some one who is really famous/rich like snoop dog, they likely let them smoke on the set.
Allot of artist and actors are pot friendly anyhow. Hell I live in the bible belt and we can smoke pot in concerts anyhow.
But if its portrayed in a negative light, than probly not.
