Illegal fake weed being sold on the Central Coast
t seems to be the latest craze for those seeking a high and there’s a lot of confusion over whether or not it’s legal in California. The most popular name for the leafy substance is K2. It’s sprayed with a synthetic compound chemically similar to THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. It’s smoked just like the real deal. According to the Department of Justice, it is illegal. K2 is also sometimes called “spice,” genie,” or “pulse.” Kim Kaufman is a drug counselor for San Luis Obispo County Drug and Alcohol. She said, “We still don’t know that much about it.” But we do know a form of K2 is being sold here on the Central Coast. We found it at the Grover Beach Smoke Shop. It was sold as incense and came with a price tag of around $24. An employee at the store wouldn’t go on camera but said it’s legal to anyone who’s of legal age. Kaufman said, “We know that it’s being sold as incense and that people tend to smoke it like marijuana.” She went on to say, “I would say before you take anything into your body you’ve got to be concerned about the health risks your exposing yourself to. We don’t know what’s in this substance, we don’t know what the effects are long term or short term even on your physical health.” Rob Bryn is the spokesperson for the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s department. @chegts I’ve had k2 that was stronger than some weed i’ve smoked. However I smoked the whole pack within a few hours, went to bed and woke up with a killer headache. lol. I’ll still smoke it, but I still say weed is better and will always be healthier than smoke made from scientist.. lol

If I was in California i wouldnt need herbal incense lol, I would just say I have a headache and get medical marijuana FTW! and herbal incense is not addicting, and they put “not for human consumption” just so they can technically sell it. When all this herbal incense came out it was created to smoke but it was labeled as incense so they could sell it. There is almost no way this stuff can be used as actual incense.

Most of the k2 (summit and others) I’ve bought online were homemade ripoffs. It is so difficult to find real k2 or Serenity Now, and even when you do it doesn’t even give you the munchies or anything great. Tried some ‘trance’ herbal incense from an orlando, FL craigslist ad and got the munchies like I’ve never had!

@deaddoll00 this is true, but weed helps me and i enjoy it. The only reason i could see to do the stuff in this video i for employment purposes because our system doesnt exactly allow smokers to work. I’d still trust spice before i would pharmys but anyone with the option of spice or weed for whatever reason should stick with weed imo.

If I had the same condition and knew marijuana to be helpful, I would choose it any day over the prescribed, harmful shit that you can get. A lot of medication is worst than the illness its meant for.

Weed, spice, alcohol, caffeine, can all be used to achieve desired effects. But every single one of these can be misused or abused as well. Any danger in using any of these, is because of the user!!!
