you can go into a dispensary if u have a recommendation. i have had a card for about 2 years and if u want the card u can get one in oakland,ca. u dont really need the card but it is easier. and when u go get a card they give u a free growers license if u plan of growing ur own medicine.
Most dispensaries will accept a recommendation, but, prefer the card. The card allows you more options for purchase as well. Recommendations won’t cost, but the doctor’s visit will. The card, certainly, will cost you. But, it is for the best. Some dispensaries, especially if it’s your first visit/they don’t ‘know’ the doctor, will not accept the recommendation. I believe that is owner/operator choice specific.
