If California passes the recreational marijuana law, how will that be seen by the biggest religions?
If legalized, will the mega church’s condemn it?

I imagine they’d get their panties in a twist, just like when people try to enjoy ANY sort of transcendental experience that doesn’t require them as a go-between.
Eh. God put the herb on the earth, right? God better not bogart it…
Are you kidding? they’d probably incorporate marijuana into their rituals. Church would be a lot more fun.
Notice the mormons aren’t rallying against this law as they did for Prop 8…
….as typical liberal pap.
They seem to embrace narcotics like alcohol and nicotine, so I can’t imagine why they’d have a problem with marijuana which is actually more natural and therefore more of gods creation than either of the prior two. But then, reason isn’t really their strong suit, is it.
Cmon … They gotta know God was stoned when he created the Duck Billed Platypus ?!?!?
California will see a huge population swell.
Without actually saying it out loud, I’ll bet a few high-tech industries set up shop there, too. It would be a draw for most of their employees.
I don’t know about religion, but I already blaze that ish like it was legal.
I don’t care. I am on the other side of the country.
Waste your brain cells on all the pot you want.
Waste all your money on pot. I don’t care.
For the first few decades, they’ll rally against it. Then, when a few of them have tried it and found that it’s no worse than alcohol, they’ll be smoking it on weekends.
Pot, if used properly- is like drinking. It can be done responsibly. PLENTY of Christians drink responsibly.
For goodness sake, I remember the weddings IN the basement of the Church as a kid- big open bars! Keggers at all the church picnics! The adults would drink at all our family parties.
(Roman Catholic family)
So for people like that to condemn pot is just wrong.
Some people say “God put it on Earth so why not”. God also made poison ivy, I don’t see you smokin’ that. My personal opinion, from what I’ve heard about it and the fact that its already used medically, is that its like drinking alcohol. In moderation is probably ok (even Jesus drank wine), but too much can be a bad thing (like getting drunk off your rocker and doing stupid stuff).
Probably against it, though firms in the tourist industry would look forward to an upturn.
It’s the driving casualty rate I’d be worried about: that’s high enough as it is.
Bad driving kills many, many more people than terrorists ever did.
(100 a day in the USA…)
The churches probably will condemn it when it is first passed. Then, eventually, when the sky does not fall in, they will come to accept it grudgingly. Finally, they will claim it was their idea all along.
all that have Jesus living his life in and through us, does not want our minds altered by any thing except Jesus, just because some one says it is legal to do so, God law are our laws.
it isnt a good idea…
