Macrame is knot making. You’ll be learning the square knot first. Once you master that, the rest will be relatively easy. So, practice that first, and a lot. If you don’t want to use your hemp, which can be expensive, and have some yarn around, different colored pieces, try practicing with that first.
I learned how to do macrame just a few years ago, and if I CAN, anybody can! The most basic knot is one you already make, probably, when closing bread bags w/o a twist tie, which is just an overhand knot. I made an earring set with that knot, and one bead. You’ll find it easy once you get the hang of it!
