How much much does Marijuana affect driving skills?
My best friend smokes marijuana and he’s one of those people who says that they can drive “pretty good” while stoned. He tells me he rolls a blunt, and smokes medium grade pot when he drives home. So how much does it affect driving skills?
While the legal gap decreases with every state victory, there remains a prevalent misconception that marijuana is a... Read More »

not nearly as bad as alcohol-drunk, but it makes you a much worse driver. It impairs your judgement- physical (like you misjudge distances etc…) and mental (whether its a good idea) more than being just a bit “buzzed”, but it doesn’t make you have a lot worse reaction time, just somewhat.
I doubt he would be causing any crashes, but it does definitely make it quite a lot more likely. Unless of course he is actually a woman, and especially an asian woman, seeing as they are taking more lives on the road than an army of 1000000 Helen Keller clones driving around (just kidding)
Apparently marijuana only has a limited effect on your driving skills but I don’t necessarily believe such reports that you can see in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=marijuana+%2b+%22driving+skills%22&fr=ush-ans&ygmasrchbtn=Web+Search&vm=r
Apparently you are likely to be distracted very easily.
Not very much surprisingly. It slows your mind down helps you focus on one thing. Just don’t over do it.
I read a few studies a while back that came to the same conclusion that Marijuana in fact makes you a safer driver because it tends to make a person more cautious by nature. They drive slower, make complete stops and usually always tend to use their signals. Also there are very few marijuana related accidents. You can go here to see some myths and facts about marijuana and its affects:

i drive high every day of my life and i drive better than anyone else on the road. every accident i ever had was before i started smoking weed
People are legally driving drunk while FAR more impaired than anyone I have ever seen be on mj.
Studies are showing that massive amts dont impair your diriving even a fraction of the amt the legal driving limit does.
