How do I smoke powdered salvia?
I got some salvia in powder form, and not realizing it wasnt leaves i bought a mini hookah to smoke it with. it has the long hose and everything… will it work? i don’t have it with me now to see exactly how it looks but how do i put the powder in the bowl without it falling through? am i supposed to put water in the pipe? if it won’t work, is there any other way that i can smoke it without a pipe cuz its not returnable and it was expensive so i can’t afford another one right now
thanks for the help… this is the brand i bought, http://salviazone.com/store/index.php and it is the red one… the middle intensity; they don’t go by 5x, 10x, etc. If anyone can tell me more about the potency of the one that i have i would appreciate it.
ok you didn’t need a hookah for that. just a small pipe would have worked, with a mesh screen (also sold at the smoke shop). and you do know that you’re only supposed to smoke like a good pinch of it, not a whole lot.
You need a really fine screen and butane type lighter. Any good smoke shop will sell the screens. You need a torch type lighter because it takes a lot of heat to properly vaporize the salvia.
I’ve always smoked the leaf in a regular tobacco pipe with a screen. Works with the powdered extracts too but beware any extract over 5X is pretty potent.
EDIT: 40 mg/g Salvinorin A per gram you’ve got something in the neighborhood of 10X. I been messing with the stuff for a long time at this level it’s pretty intense if you’re not into it. Best to have a “sitter” present to make sure you don’t do nothing stupid. Best done in a dark quite setting, things of this world detract from the experience.
I’ve had some very memorable experiences off the stuff. Once I thought I died, on my birthday yet, like it like I was imprisoned in a bubble that prevented me from accessing anything in the mortal realm. Very spooky that session was.
Another time it was like I was stuck in a cartoon, it was very, very pleasant. I could not stop laughing, again good thing I had people watching over me.
Fortunately silvia’s peak doesn’t last long, 5 to 10 minutes max. Go head experiment, you won’t be sorry.
Keep in mind salvia is not a party drug it does NOT promote social interaction but is great for soul searching. It also in the physical realm relieves muscle pain and is a cure for diarrhea, so it can make you constipated too.

you can ingest it by holding the powder under the tongue. The traditional way of using salvia from the mexican natives is to fast from sexual activity for 5 days prior to your vision quest and then to take a rolled up lot of leaves (quid) and chew them and then hold them against the cheek….if you were to do the same with the powder, it would absorb through the mucus membrane of the mouth and enter the blood stream.
