how do i get my marijuana possession charge dropped?
my friend and I were smokin a blunt and he was apparently driving erraticly and crossed the lines 4 times so the cop behind pulled us over. long story short he found the gram in my pocket and charged me with possesion. we weren’t arrested, they told us to have two friends pick us up, one to drive us and one to drive his car. I was just wondering if there was anything i could do to have it dropped or not on my record as i’m newly certified as a pharmacy technician and will need to get a job soon
get a lawyer
use money power
Offer to give up who ever sold it to you. If you don’t do something you aren’t going to be a pharmacy tech.
Hmm, that time immemorial question, “how can I make MY crimes not count?”
You can’t. You may have just jeopardized your entire future. That is why they say criminals are stupid.
A lawyer may be able to get it changed to something you did not do but will look better on record. And remember the cop may be able to charge you with things they did not charge you with like Drugged Driving.
Well thats probably an A misdemeanor. I don’t know if you can afford a lawyer or not, but whichever you need representation. A public defender doesn’t cost anything as long as you meet a low income requirement, but the downside is they handle 100 other defendants and have no time to really speak to you personally. A conditional discharge is when you have to stay out of trouble for 6 months to a year, and the charges will be dropped. No probation, no classes, no jail time. If this is you’re first offense you might POSSIBLY be able to get a conditional discharge with a public defender. A lawyer can PROBABLY get you a conditional discharge. I highly doubt you’ll go to jail on your first offense.
If you keep smoking marijuana, just note DO NOT DRIVE with it. Thats how 95% of users get busted.
And despite the 5 thumbs down, this is the most logical outcome. I’ve been there done that. Everyone deserves second chances. But finding a pharm tech position will be impossible if you can’t pass a drug test.
I hope you didn’t spend too much time and money getting certified as a pharmacy tech.
Wow. A drug abuser working as a pharmacy tech. I say the cops just saved the rest of us from future crime!
You do realize that you can no longer work as a pharm tech in most states and most employers won’t hire you.
