How do I get medical marijuana from a state I am not resident?
I have debilitating fibromyalgia. I am on disability and no longer practice my profession. A family member found an article about the use of marijuana for this condition. I am eager and open to try this, as pain relievers have done very little for me in my three year fight against crippling pain, fatigue, and loss of sleep. I need info on getting medical marijuana. Where? How? I live in Iowa and it is not dispensed here.
While the legal gap decreases with every state victory, there remains a prevalent misconception that marijuana is a... Read More »

You can’t. You must be a resident of the state in order to be issued the card you need to obtain it legally.
i don’t know but when you find out tell me. If it is this big of an issue try moving to one of the states because it won’t be as bad as dealing with the pain for the rest of your life.
I don’t think you can legally. The medical marijuana centers in states that allow them have doctors that will examine you and ‘recommend’ pot (they still can’t -prescribe- it). They give you a document which you take to the medical marijuana center and get a card with your picture on it that allows you to buy it.
Maybe you have a friend in that state whose address you could use. Maybe that state’s law allows out-of-state people to come in and join the program (why not call them and find out?)
Otherwise, you can buy pot on the street just like everyone else. 8^) A lot of states/counties/cities don’t even chase pot smokers anymore.
move to that state–or at least establish a residence there–but you must be able to travel there to see a doc…
have you tried TRAZODONE for sleep–a lot of docs don’t know about it–a friend told me about it–i still don’t wake ‘refreshed’ but at least i sleep
even if you can get it as an out of state resident–you couldn’t legally use it out of state..you might as well jsut grow your own–the rx would be jsut as illegal
and technically–the state laws are violating the federal laws–while the feds are looking the other way and not enforcing fed law–they could at any time
you can look into K2—-its still legal in most states…but they are quickly banning it….its a artificial form of marijuana–i tried it–didn’t notice anything
Well first of all, you need to be a resident of the state in which you plan to get the card in. In order to prove residency, you need an I.D. or Drivers License from that state.
Once you have that, either google or craigslist “medical marijuana evaluation”–generally speaking, craigslist ads have some more affordable locations.
Schedule your appointment. The day of, make sure you have some sort of knowledge of your medical history. I would suggest taking some kind of record with you, along with your ID/DL, and a book for the waiting room.
If you are approved, that means that you will pay the amount and be sent home with your recommendations and such.
Note that you cannot get away with using MJ is a state that does not approve the use. For example, I have a California reccomendation, but it will not fly in texas, or even in oregon
