do you really think it alters the mind or harms the body more so than alcohol or cigarettes? do you really think you have the right to control people to use a benign substance? how do you feel about people brewing it as a tea instead of smoking it?

He’s a libertarian leaning sort, so it doesn’t surprise me. I hail from the land of the libertarians and they come in all forms, from rabidly right wing anti-government nutters to uber left wing hippies and everything inbetween, believe me.
If pot was regulated and taxed the same way that alcohol is, people/gangsters wouldn’t be fighting over territory and distribution. See: Prohibition. Why we haven’t yet learned from history is really beyond me.
“do you really think you have the right to control people to use a benign substance?”
I don’t exactly what you mean by that, but I think marijuana should be regulated by the government exactly like they regulate alcohol, because I don’t really see any difference between alcohol and marijuana. They’re both fine in moderation.
I think it’s the first reasonable, logical thing he’s ever said. I guess the law of probabilities made this inevitable, but I’m still surprised.
As for the rest, pot is WAAAAYYY better for people and society than alcohol. This is a fact, not an opinion. It should totally be legalized – the prisons are too full, and no one’s life should be ruined because they want to grow weed. It would also cut down on gang violence (although it would take legalizing meth and heroine and coke and stuff too to really help that problem), and it would be a huge windfall for the economy. It seems like a complete no brainer to me.
Marijuana has the same effects as alcohol and cigarettes( it can make you hallucinate if you smoke too much and it’s hard on your lungs), not more honestly. People have brewing it as tea for thousands of years. Honestly my only worry is justifying or criminalizing any other drug if marijuana ever becomes legal.
I forgot to add that either way the legalization will not effect me or any other people I know that I smoke with. We and everyone else that smokes pot will use either way the law sways. Happy Holidays
I think it should be legal. Slap a tax on the stuff and think of allll the revenue it will bring in. Not to mention the money that would be saved on police enforcement. The prohibition of marijuana doesn’t work at all anyway. It would be much easier to regulate if it were made legitimate.
I see no reason whatsoever to pay any attention to anything Pat Robertson says.
Whether I agree with what he says or not, he *never* uses sound reasoning, so his points are worthless anyway.
Marijuana is mild compared with other illegal drugs, and you can only become addicted if you smoke a large amount of it over a sustained period. It can be harmful, and you shouldn’t drive after using it, but that is also true of alcohol. (Unlike alcohol, people rarely get stoned to fight.) Dope also has possible medical benefits but a serious study of that is impossible while it is still illegal.
I am in favour of legalizing it, as I believe the introduction of a new cash crop will help out our farming economy, taxation and regulation will limit the hold of gangsters in the industry, and conutries that do legalize it will receive additional income from tourists.
As for Pat Robertson? He’s a scumbag and a fraudster and is out for just one man, that man being Pat Robertson.
I myself do believe that if Marijuana can Truly help someone with either any physical or mental illness then yes is should be available to them, but yes i do think that it is very much a mind altering in which it make you think about things a little more before you act, take someone with a very bad or short temper or full of anger let that person smoke some Marijuana and watch and see if if does not to wonders/but know on the Biblical;aspect REV.9:21 the word Sorceries means Pharmaceuticals or Drugs in the greek language.
I don’t think he was “advocating marijuana use.” He was just making the point that our laws against it are too strict. But who cares?
I smoked it when I was a teenager – A LOT of it. . .it was the 70’s, everybody did! I haven’t smoked it in decades but know many people who do – family included. It is FAR less harmful to society than alcohol!!! Pat Robertson is right when he says the laws are too strict. We’re locking up kids for smoking/possession of it and I, too, think it’s ridiculous.
I think Pat Robertson may be the next Cheech and Chong..I like Cheech and Chong, I’m not sure if I like Pat Robertson however. My thoughts on smoking pot is big smiles and a lot of pepperoni pizzas!! : ) God bless.
as long as they don’t come knocking on my door
asking for money to buy weed etc it is
I know people are dying by the thousands in mexico so you can get high.
If you haven’t noticed, Pat Robertson has been getting a bit senile in his elder years.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
He already gotten rich from millions of gullible Christians, Christians would probably believe anything he says because they lack common sense.

Suddenly Pat Robertson needs our support! Hey, quit hogging the bong!
Even a broken clock is right twice a day. He’s still a douche bag though.
Marijuana has been used for centuries for a variety of things. I think that Robertsoin has an agenda, I will never ever trust that nut job.
I have enjoyed pot for over 40 years, and I never graduated to heroin like some idiots clam.

The bible alters minds and does great harm to billions of people and it’s legal, so what’s the problem with smoking a little pot now and again?
I think all drugs should be legalized, regulated, and heavily taxed.
I see no reason whatsoever to pay any attention to anything Pat Robertson says.

Peace.
