John from www.growingyourgeens.com visits the Spring Preserve in August to find out what is still growing in the Las Vegas Summer Heat. It has been over 100 degrees for over 30 days. Find out whats still growing and find out what’s not..
I liked this tour alot. I was surprised that there were no lemons, limes, grapefruit, oranges, palmagranites, olives. There are a lot of olives at the Mission in San Juan Bastista. Are these plants suitable for the desert climate?
Wow, I had no idea there was a use for mesquite tree’s other than bbq wood! Here in Central Texas we do everything we can to kill the stuff. It’s very invasive and will choke out the oaks and anything else in it’s path in no time. I could likely fill up a truck bed right now just by driving a mile perimeter around my house and that’s a conservative estimate, lol. I’ll have to try grinding the beans, fascinating!
I didnt know that there is a white eggplant until now hehehe
