Even if and thats a big if, they were right then the crime would be useing or selling drugs. having drugs can’t do anything. you would have to take the drugs before it can do anything.
If someone buys drugs from an undercover police officer then nothing said here would justify the arrest. they would need to be doing something in addition to buying drugs.
So its really only valid for some people and the law just throws them all in the same basket.
Yeah but that is contingent on the person behaving a way that the police have to deal with. if that doesn’t occur then that argument is worthless to justify stiff penalties for having drugs or even using drugs.
No one thinks that drug dealers will become heros of the age. We think the drug dealers would be put out of business. Wheres the wine dealers?
NO ONE GOES TO REHAB FOR POT,….EXCEPT ILL KIDS THAT REALLY NEED IT TO FUNCTION, INSTEAD OF TAKING RIDALIN !!
Wow, I had no idea that I was a “Violent” person until Paul Chabot said so. Good to know…
Who are the terrorists? Whoever is supporting the current war system being imposed on us. That be these military people who are coming back and applying their tactics to us here in USA as well. Then they say the people are the problem not the drug. Point exactly, make people responsible by educating them and regulate when they get off line and affect a 3rd party.
Anyone want to tell me what is so harmful about marijuana?
@mycelian You are 100% correct. I like how he said (in an earlier part) that there were “more pot shops in LA then Starbucks”.. AND WHAT??? that’s it? there’s just more.. that’s all you can come up with? What a jerk.
For the most part those who are in rehab for marijuana are in their under court order not free will I’m sure that guy knows nothing he says is even worth saying and he knows marijuana should be legal or is he just in denial cause it’s obvious marijuana/hemp would be better legal for the peoples health and safety and this country will make vast amounts of revenue off it. I would much rather go to a legit business then the drug dealer down the street
I wonder who’s gonna be this decade’s “Freeway” Ricky? LOL, slimy-ass CIA
0:50 the reason why there’s so many youth coming into rehab for marijuana is because they’re caught with the stuff and given two choices: jail time with a criminal record for the rest of their lives, or go into rehab. Of course, going into rehab means automatically that you have to admit you’re “addicted”. Nice way for the enforcers to create this statistic of “marijuana addicts” by coercive force.
Paul, The Muppet, did not answer the question about what authorises the Feds to regulate it.
Paul Chabot doesn’t seem to have a clue.
Unfortunately Paul Chabot will probably never read this, but he’s falling into the typical logical fallacy of argumentum ad misericordiam. Appealing to pity and emotion has no bearing on whether he is right or wrong. It is a crime to initiate violence against others, for any reason. Imbibing a substance aggresses against no one. He seems incapable of realizing that the law is capable can sanction a crime. Saying things like, “As a military vet…” or “The future of our kids…” is laughably sad.
I wonder if Paul has seen the Geraldo Rivera clip where the military admits they guard the opium and help the Afghani’s grow it. Has he ever heard of Karzai’s brother. Heroin use in America has gone up 12 times since we invaded Afghanistan, which produces 90% of the world’s opium. Has he ever heard of the Iran-Contra scandal, the same ppl who bring in the drugs are the ones making it illegal.
other than that, thanks for the post.
Stossel and Ron Paul are right and we should legalize and legalize it right. Not more felonies and higher taxes, restriction to growers or users. As long as we don’t interfere with someone else’s pursuit of happiness or break laws then we should be left alone to pursue our happiness. Stossel would be a good press sec for Ron Paul. 2012.
I don’t know if I’m for this Bill and I am a MMJ Patient In CA. It’s a bad bill and I’d rather keep my rights as a patient. Even though it says it’s tax and regulated legalization this law increase the number of felonies to pot smokers. This law says you can’t consume in public. You will not be able to grow, without paying substantial taxes and the current taxes at point of sale will increase as well. Look up dennis perons response on youtube. The current Prop 215 is better. Vote NO!!!
