Does anyone know what prices do Medical Marijuana dispensaries buy cannabis for in California?
I live in the Central Valley in California and im in the process in getting my cannabis card. According to my friend that just got one he can grow up to 90 plants, and he wants to sell to dispensaries. So im wondering if someone know about how much do dispensaries buy the cannabis for? We currently own an orange groove but if im allowed to grow 90 plants i want to switch my farming operations to cannabis.
Any laws or information i should know about would be greatly appreciated.
It depends on local city and county laws. In Long Beach, for instance, there is a new law that all cannabis for medical patients in the city must be grown in the city. Also, the collectives must be run as non-profits, so only operating costs and such can be paid for. I’d really ask your local city council.
The average for quality medicine is usually around $2,700 – $3,000; if it’s not the great quality it could go as low as $2,000 or they’ll turn you away.
The reason why your friend has a card for 90 plants could be two reasons: the county he lives in and/or his doctor recommendation allows 90 plants. Most doctors will not permit you to grow 90 plants, so what I would recommend is talk to your friend about his doctor and go to same one.
Just remember the rule of 99. Ninety-nine plants is the maximum before your go from a misdemeanor to a felony. You can go over 99 plants, depending on the county you live in. You would have to join a collective and become a caregiver. A caregiver is basically someone who is allowed to collect patient recommendations and grow for them. The only downside is this only protects you in the courtroom, they can still cite you and if they found your grow operation they can still break your equipment and/or take it, and arrest you, depending on the officer that finds your op. They will also take all your dried product.
After you pay the money to get bailed out and go through the court system, you will have the right to provide the recommendations for who you were care giving for, and your record will be cleaned.

Wow – where do I start – Simmer down – your seeing nothing but dollars!!! 12 plants is the CA limit!!
The law varies by county in CA: http://www.safeaccessnow.org/section.php?id=363
90 plants is an arbitrary number using an unofficial Federal standard for investigating medical marijuana. It is not absolute. With ‘friends’ like this you need a lawyer. A lawyer can also help with the BIG issues of taking MMJ into agricultural farming.
Lots of reading to do!!

Supply has been plentiful out of CA and a smart business plan would use $1300 a pound. People will argue but I use the lowest number I’ve seen to think conservative business.
I don’t know really the law from the california but i know a good website where you can buy cannabis seeds. You have the choice from a big list of seeds supplier’s where each breeder’s have their own strains. Very interesting if you are looking for grow different strains.
