Yes. I always support increases in freedom
and a call for the end of black market violence.
Though I have not read the exact text of Prop 19 I do agree with legalizing marijuana for adult use. Anyone who does not, should watch “The Union”.
Yes! I wish more states would follow suit!
I guess so. However, I would in turn support removing the social safety net that potheads would later try to take advantage of.
Of course. Weed is far less damaging than alcohol, and every adult should be allowed to injest into their own body whatever they want, so long as it doesn’t affect other people. That’s freedom, though the right-wingers who seem to crawl this category won’t acknowledge it.
Yes
Yes, but Meg Whitman says she doesn’t care how many Californian’s vote for it.
Meg says she will not sign it into law if she is Governor.
Absolutely. This will end the black market and lead to an increase in liberty.
Nope.
We already have enough social and economic problems caused by alcohol. Why should we make things even worse by legaliszing another drug?
BTW – I agree that if the stuff is legalized then potheads should be ineligible for any kind of taxpayer paid public assistance. I see no reason why my tax money should be used to subsidize your drug habit.
both candidates for governor (Whitman AND Brown) oppose it, so they will likely not sign the bill if it passes. Since they can fall back on the fact that legalizing it would conflict with federal law. And as Obama seems to like to sue states for their laws…well…it gives them an excuse.
@HIPPIE JESUS
Whitman said no such thing. And Brown ALSO opposes the prop.
This isn’t a prop to decide your governor vote on since they AGREE on the issue.
Yes. War on drugs is a waste of taxpayer money and we have too much prisoners arrested for weed offense. We the USA is the only first world nation to incarnate more prisoner and that half of the population of western Europe. Like the prohibition in the 20s. it didn’t stop making people drink. It increase black market and create violence through the country. VOTE YES ON PROP 19. SAVE CALIFORNIA FROM GOING DOWN THE DRAIN WITH BUDGET CUTS!

Prop 19 has a couple of controversial provisions that are of concern to California
NORML. First, it would disallow marijuana smoking in “any space where minors are
present” – a restriction unparalleled for any other drug, including tobacco, which is known
to be far more harmful. Not only would this ban parents from smoking in the presence of
their own children, but it could well leave them without any legal place to smoke, since the
initiative also bans smoking in public or “a public place. By the same token, cops could
cite pot smokers at any concert, dinner or event where kids under 21 were present.
Violations would be punishable by the current $100 misdemeanor fine.
