Do people in California realize that medical marijuana is still illegal?
I know it’s legal from state law but federal law still considers the drug illegal. So I’m wondering how is California still able to say it’s ok to sell and buy marijuana for medical use? Even though the federal government can still bust you for it.

The problem is the USA federal government. The American Constitution divides up the rights that the states have from the ones that the federal government has. The states were given the right to make laws about any pharmaceutical laws, the federal government was not. The federal government has taken it upon themselves to override that rule when it comes to the drugs they do not like (including euthanasia and marijuana). California as a state knows the law and they have made a state law that allows residents to use weed for medical use. It’s a bit of a feud between the federal and state governments.
Sure they do – same as they know perfectly well that ‘undocumented workers’ are here illegally; but find it politically and economically beneficial to promote lawbreaking. This is why they willfully refuse to cooperate with – or actively impede – efforts by federal officials to enforce such laws.
that is a matter under active legal consideration. there re conflicting opinions and that is why we have courts to decide.
you are simply wrong to state that it is a decided matter because it isn’t.
We need to keep the feds outta our state policies, it is basically playing russian roulte here…unless you live in Santa Cruz where it is legal to smoke the city goverment has expressed to the police not to bother with us POT heads because we are not harming anyone and it takes to much time and money to prosecute so they put their efforts into going after the real criminals.
