Luckily, your landlord isn’t stupid enough to buy that.
If you are not breaking the law and if you did not sign a lease agreement which disallows this activity then the answer is “NO”. Check your lease agreement.
if they feel it puts other residents in jeopardy—-yes….after all — they own the property…not you.
Legally, with proper permits or whatever is needed, then probably not, unless there’s a clause in your lease that says you can’t grow ANYTHING, or do anything for profit, in the apartment.
Read your lease. That is where the conditions of your contract with him are.
Yes. Just because medical weed is legal doesn’t mean you are allowed to grow it on apartment premises.
You can not grow “medical weed” legally! That is why he is kicking you out.
unless there is anything in your contract that says you cannot do that, and so long as you can provide legal documentation saying you’re allowed to have medical weed, then I do not see why not. However, if you have a prescription for it, I’m not sure if you must pick it up. It might still be illegal to grow it. Check with local law enforcement, and if there is nothing illegal with doing so, then you cannot be kicked out. But I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to grow it.
You can’t grow it legally like that so yes, he can kick you out. It’s also still against federal law for you to grow it so you’re not protected at all.
In some states/counties medical patients can grow limited amounts. If you are growing legally, your landlord cannot kick you out for doing something that’s legal. There’s no possible way the lease could cover this so it would be legal.
Landlords must follow state law, they can’t use the federal law to evict you. Du mad, you are wrong on that one.
Yes. Because despite what you believe, growing weed is not legal. Even if you are permitted by your state to grow medicinal marijuana, it is still a violation of federal law. And a landlord is absolutely permitted to evict someone for conducting illegal activity on the premises.
Of course. You are breaking the law.
And do you really think that anybody is dumb enough to buy your ‘medical weed’ excuse?
Yes.
Your apartment manager has the right to kick you out for any behavior that s/he does not want in the apartment. Your apartment manager could kick you out for growing cherry tomatoes or catnip. Your apartment manager could impose a “no plants allowed” rule. As long as s/he gives you a ten day comply or vacate notice, your landlord is golden.
