I’m hoping my state of Arizona passes the prop that allows Medical marijuana throughout the State, only problem is that most of the people who would vote yes are in fact pot heads, and are too lazy to vote lol. It will also cut down on Sheriff Joe Arpaio wasting the states money on drug busts. Tell me Emily, what is the best weed you get perscribed?
@EmilyRoseLR1
Portugal has been SOMEWHAT successful, but they are a socialist society… we are not.
Respond to this video…
Also, the fact that illicit drugs are still being stigmatized is a huge problem, because many people buy into it.
@bird374u
Look at the drug reform in Portugal. It’s been wildly successful. But yeah, there needs to be a huge social movement to end drug prohibition at the federal level. State laws confuse everything, I think…but I was just thinking in terms of the legalization of medical marijuana and decriminalization of marijuana in various states. Those are baby steps, in my mind.
To date, there has been no drug reform that has ended up well or successful. Maybe it will come down to seeing what CA holds more of: those who are willing to settle and those of us who are not.
If you knew you could get a raise, if you were persistent enough, wouldn’t you be persistent?
You are right, capitalism and greed are ruling our country, but since when have baby steps been responsible for a revolution?
@bird374u
I think that we should take what we can get for now, honestly. Drug reform takes baby steps. Sure, ideally we would all be able to smoke a joint and not get arrested for it, but the system we live in is irrational and retards real progress.
I am someone that cares deeply about OUR rights and I want to smoke weed, not only in my home, but at a campsite, on the beach, in the smoking area at a concert, at the park… I can keep naming places that aren’t in your or my living room. Can’t you?
If you believe that it is going to end up like alcohol and/or tobacco I think you are mistaken, but that’s my opinion. I would love nothing more than to be able to live a life where I don’t have to hide in the shadows to smoke a joint, but with Prop 19… we are still in the shadows, we just get to feel a little better about being there. Well… this isn’t enough for me. I want more and so should you… so should everyone.
@bird374u
Dude, the problem is with capitalism. We cannot escape it. I want it legalized, and I’m voting yes. It will be regulated like alcohol and tobacco, so what?
@EmilyRoseLR1
Say NO 4:19; give it a minute!
Proposition 19, also known as the Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010
Also known as REGULATE and CONTROL… is this your idea of freedom?!?!?!
Please spread the word… NO on Prop 19!!!
@bird374u
The FED’s have already cracked down on pot clubs in cali, during the Bush administration. I believe that Obama stated that he will not sick the feds on california pot clubs. So…I don’t know everything. But the new drug czar has said that the war on drugs is a failure, if I remember that correctly. I know that the feds can overrule state laws…but I’m unsure about what the outcome will be if it’s legalized. I’ll look into it. Thanks for your insight.
Vote NO on Prop 19!!!
I am an advocate for marijuana. The number of reasons why I am such a supporter of this plant are too numerous to mention, but I love it. So why vote NO on Prop 19? Through fine print and tricky semantics, our government is actually taking away more rights than they are giving. Please read and understand that you are not gaining any type of freedom! The FEDS have vouched to crack down on California if we pass this. This is only their 1st offer… there WILL BE more.
@hollisterhitman
I don’t know, I think all drugs should be legalized, taxed, and regulated. Narcotics like heroin will be safer to use if you know exactly what amounts you are consuming. People OD from bad batches all of the time. The gov’t can prevent those deaths by regulating the manufacturing of it. People will still use hard drugs. Like marijuana, they are not going anywhere. Education is key here, Erowid.com is a great resource for non-biased drug information.
@slimsephy
Yeah, I agree. You gotta love the weed because its the safest drug around!
you’re pretty cute. One thing though – One can consume “massive” amounts of weed but will not die. They’ll pass out before they get close to “overdosing”, which has never happened =)
@Exton Not only that but once Mj is legal it will really separate the good from the bad. MJ should not be treated like Meth, Heroin, or Cocaine. Those are the drugs our government should be focusing on getting
Great Video! We will look good to other states. Oregon and Washington have already said they will follow if all goes well here
Prop 19 can put a big dent in the war on drugs, something the DEA has never been able to do. It has to go legal in all states. MJ being lumped in with Coke, Heroin, and Meth is a bad bad idea. We are telling kids to never use that stuff when more than half of Ca has smoked weed. Do you think kids believe everything about the real drugs since they are being lied to about MJ? We need to teach our youth that MJ is ok to use if you are over 21 but those other Drugs are NEVER OK
Californians vote YES on Prop. 19!
Woo! San Jose! Theres like 30+ pot clubs around here right now. I can even walk down my block to one. You’re right on it basically already being legal if you really want it with a $50 doctor’s recommendation; just like during alcohol prohibition people could goto speakeasy’s and get shitfaced. Once cannabis is legal everyone will see that its a harmless drug and quality of life will go up.
YES ON 19!!
I think your right it is hyperbolic to say it will end the war on drugs. But The war on drugs has in large part been a war on marijuana. Check out PBS’s Frontline documentary titled ‘The War on marijuana” where they make this case very well.
