Besides hating freedom, why would someone vote against prop 19?
oh and loving big government
@meow, so you voted against it because you don’t like hippies?

not everyone in cali smokes pot
Love for prohibition.
Love for big government nanny state.
Love for arresting people for non violent crimes.
Love for wasting time and space in the prison system on non violent ‘criminals’ who are ‘criminals’ simply because they choose one intoxicant over another.
Love for laws made in the 30s to arrest blacks and mexicans since it passed only after a massive push of racist propaganda by Anslinger.
Love for high taxes to fund SWAT teams breaking up homes.
Im sure these same people would have been all for alcohol prohibition, or arresting people who attempted to help runaway slaves – to them, law (lawful or not) is god.
Dude, you can’t have pot legally yet. Suck it up (no pun intended) and deal with it. I’m sure that will change eventually. It’s a state issue.
And think of all the people that would come to California just to smoke. LA’s smog would become a huge ganja cloud.
Well they tried to get an answer for that question on the street and asked dozens of old hippies from the 70s but they were all stoned and not a one even remembered voting or who they were and even more comical was they were totally freaked out that there were blacks living in the White House, We can only hope the hippies stay out west and that all the dumbasses stay in Nevada, WOW how dumb is that bunch??
One of very few areas where I actually disagree with conservatives…they say it will create more drug addicts and give easier access to pot to kids. I disagree for several reasons, mainly being the alcohol, which is legal but limited by age, is much harder to obtain now than is pot for a teenager…and I know this from experience…when I was younger, it was easy to score a bag of weed from that shady character that you knew hung out in the bad part of town, but getting alcohol was much tougher…you either needed a darn good fake ID and someone with balls enough to use it, or an older person willing to buy it for you. When you are 16-17, about the only hope is to have an older sibling, or pay some bum to do it and hope they don’t run off with your money. Legalizing pot would make it much more like alcohol in that regard. There are many other reasons as well, but that is for another discussion.
Too many people have seen Reefer Madness and are afraid of getting killed by violent, psychotic stoners.
Maybe they are concerned about a society filled with pot heads. Maybe they are concerned about more impaired drivers to dodge. Maybe they were concerned about making marijuana even easier for kids to access . Maybe they were concerned about the effect of wide spread apathy that marijuana leaves behind. Maybe they were holding out for all drugs to be made legal.
