Are these good reasons to vote YES on California Prop 19 to legalize marijuana?
The sales can be taxed and bring in desperately neededsince marijuana is the biggest cash crop in California.
Police and law enforcement agencies don’t have to waste time and our money on investigation, arrest and prosecution for using or selling marijuana.

Yes!
Those are very great reasons.
Also:
In this country, it used to be perfectly legal, but big businesses saw the danger hemp was to their companys, so they spread lies making it a crime to have anything to do with cannabis, thus starting the cannabis prohibition which is still going on today. What you need to know is prohibition doesn’t lower crime, it creates it. Alcohol prohibition caused crime lords like Al Capone to florish and many people died.
Now the problem with cannabis prohibition is the mexican drug war. Cannabis makes 60% of the drug cartels profits due to the fact that they can smuggle and sell it in America. Making cannabis legal would strongly weaken these cartels, and make something legal that is less harmful to you then alcohol, tobacco, or even pharmacueticals you get from your doctor.
It is not a gateway drug, that is a lie spread by anti cannabis people. Saying it leads to harder drugs is a faulty argument. Its like saying that all alcoholics drank milk first, so milk must be a gateway drug. Also, it does not kill braincells. The government did a study on monkeys forcing cannabis smoke into their lungs with masks and they lost braincells due to the lack of oxygen.
If cannabis is sold in stores, it will be harder for children to get ahold of it. I’m positive a drug dealer won’t care how old the person buying drugs is.
Prohibition doesn’t work, and never will, not for ANY drug. People can abuse any substance, any thing for that matter. People can eat to many hamburgers and die from obesity, should we make Mcdonalds illegal?
Hundreds of thousends of people die each year from cigarette use, do you know how many people die from Cananbis use? None. There are no long term effects.
This prohibition does not make sense, and will do nothing but help the state, and hopefully will be legal under federal law soon and stop useless spending and deaths. If a man wants to smoke a joint after work, what harm is it causin you?
My 2 cence.

Also… If we pass Prop 19 we will be putting local Marijuana dealers & street gangs out of business and we as a state will collect the funding.
Also we can hurt the mexican drug cartles finacally.

Stop Wastful spending!
Stop putting Marijuana user in Jail/ Prison
Stop ruining their lives by giving them a criminal record!
Give local police more time to focus on Important Crimes!
Any more to add here? Anyone?!
I could sit here all day telling you reasons to VOTE YES ON 19
they could get the money from other ways. Legalizing pot just makes more potheads.
10s of millions in tax revenue? Hundreds of jobs created? Reliable pain relief for the suffering? Cut off funding to violent drug cartels across our border who currently generate 60 percent of their revenue from the illegal U.S. marijuana market? Put our police priorities where they belong, by ending the arrests of non-violent cannabis consumers, saving hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars a year and enabling police to focus on violent crime? There’s nothing more to say People: IT’S TIME! vote yes! and end the maddness. This will only HELP california.
Yes! I don’t smoke, but I definitely think it should be legal, provided that it is regulated like alcohol (no minors, and no driving).
It makes absolutely no sense that cannabis is illegal while alcohol and tobacco (both of which are MORE harmful and MORE addictive) are legal.
Legalization would:
– Create thousands of (legal, income-tax paying) jobs
– Devastate drug cartels, which would suddenly be without their most profitable product (and 75% of their income)
– As you said, it would provide an enormous windfall for the government, which would bring in billions in taxes and SAVE billions more on law enforcement (ending Prohibition played a big part in getting the U.S. out of the Great Depression)
– Allow police, courts and prisons to focus their resources on DANGEROUS criminals, rather than harmless potheads
The more taxes the pot smokers have to pay, the less the rest of us will have to pay – everybody wins!
