Are there any good reasons to vote Yes on California Prop 19 (legalize marijuana)?
Besides the fact that it will end expensive police and jail costs due to unneccesary marijuana arrests, provide billions of dollars in tax revenue to the state, and take marijuana profits away from dangerous gangs and Mexican drug cartels? And the fact that marijuana is non-addictive, safer than tobacco and alcohol, and it’s virtually impossible to overdose on weed?
I mean other than that, are there any good reasons to legalize it?
This is not an additional reason, but perhaps another way of looking at it: it is the same as with prohibition in the 1920-30s. It doesn’t work. It never did. It only gives power to the wrong people. Also, consider the way it is in the slums of Brazil and Mexico. The government has absolutely no control anymore. We need to change things before they get completely out of hand. Legalizing marijuana would take away power from many dealers before it gets worse.
It’ll save more money on the prison systems by letting out people on marijuana charges.
It’ll save California dramatically by taxing marijuana.
It could also be legal to grow marijuana in your backyard (or in my case, my closet.. if I had the money! Lol!)
No.
my shares in domino’s pizza will increase two-fold!
isnt it dangerous? like.. if you smoke it isnt it like being drunk or even worse?
Your question is very leading. But my answers is a firm NO! It will cause more trouble than it’s worth!
Yes. It will increase the number of car crashes causing by driving while high, which will help to provide more jobs for undertakers and paramedics.
It costs the government millions for catching dealers, buyers, and growers. If it were legal, the government would actually earn well over 10x more than they are losing each year. Crime would drop since there would be more of an opportunity for people would become pacifists.
LOL, well, those are the big ones…how about the thousands (legal, income-tax paying) jobs it would create for all the people who will be selling, distributing, packaging, marketing, and delivering it?
