BC Bud Industry Worried about the Passage of Prop 19
British Columbia’s economy is tied directly to the, currently, illegal cannabis black market. If BC cops were 100% successful in enforcing BC’s marijuana laws the province would sink into the worst depression in its history. California legalizing marijuana would have a similar effect on the BC pot industry. Lower demand in the US because of sufficient domestic supply will create a glut of pot domestically in BC. We may see prices here in BC drop as growers struggle to offload an abundance of pot that would normally be going south. Prices should drop however supply will also go down over time to compensate. California legalizing pot may do what the war on drugs has never been able to do – reduce cannabis cultivation. www.reeferlogic.com
Heres a good example… XTC people used to pay $5-$20 for it and now cost 0.50 cents for someone to buy… theres no profit so almost no one sells it or does it any more. Just like if weed was sold like a pack of ciggarettes $10 you get 20 joints there wouldnt be anyone selling weed any more! 20 joints would be like $60-$100 on the street… so there would be no profit once again taking away from the drug trade.

@xsploit if it wasn’t for BC Bud setting the quality standard for dankness and BC growers breeding many of the strains now sold in the Cali medpot shops Cali wouldn’t be nearly as dank as it is now.

@donkeydonkey33 I think they are talking about the ones in BC because the people there make hella cash from CA. So if Prop 19 passes the people in BC would have less money to spend
why would restaurant industries suffer if everyone is high?
sell it to china.. they need it.. or just start exporting other drugs, i’m sure it will be a while till shrooms are legal
