Anyone voting “Yes” on California Prop 19 who is NOT a pot smoker?
Simply curious. I discussed this matter with my brother and his wife while in LA for their wedding last weekend; they are both voting “Yes” but are strict vegans and don’t use alcohol, tobacco, or marijuana.
Anyone voting for legalization based solely on the merits who will not take advantage of the law if passed?
Thanks.

I vote YES
Not voting, not in california. In support because I think more states need to stand up against federal government. States need more rights, and the federal government needs less.
I have never touched any drugs or cigarettes even. I know you’re asking Californians, in which I am not, but I would vote yes. I think it would make marijuana safer and more profitable to legalize it. Oh also I am a libertarian(ie conservative) and still would vote YES.
I don’t smoke pot, and I am voting yes. Anyone who thinks pot is hard to get now is just fooling themselves. It is better to just have pot be out there and legal like cigarettes, alcohol, and a host of other chemicals you can buy at the drug store or home depot. Education and taxation is far better way of letting people know the risks. Employers are protected too because they can screen for drugs because being intoxicated is still prohibited at work. You can’t walk around with an open beer in the street, smoke in a public place, and the same can be true for pot. It is long overdue and just plain common sense.
I vote yes
Note in California the tax per ounce is $50 alone.
I exspect the other states to follow California’s smart decision to Tax Regulate and Legalize Marijuana. I am a registered California voter and I wiljl be voting Yes on Prop 19!
And if you know anything at all about marijuana you would know that it is not dangerous at all what so ever. And it DOES NOT make you slow people just BELIEVE it does… and naturally if you honestly believe it then it might take its toll on you. Keep in miss 3 other stars than California isn’t the only state with a proposition to legalize marijuana!
Yes I am voting YES on Prop 19 and dont smoke
It will enable the biggest cash crop in Calif to be taxed bringing in millions in revenue
It will allow police and law enforcement to spend their diminishing resources on chaseing real criminals
It is safer than alcohol or cigarette smoking even while driving. People have always used weed and I have never heard of anyone causing a fatal car accident while smoking.
It makes it legal to buy MJ so the drug dealing that is illicit is eliminated and the attending crime will decrease
Yes. I voted yes on 19 and have never smoked pot.
I quit smoking over a year ago and have little urge to ever do it again–but I would definitely vote yes if I lived in California. It is by far the least toxic widely used substance (zero deaths!) AND studies have shown that it has a very low statistical correlation with car accidents.
The most dangerous thing about cannabis is the legal consequences of getting caught with it.
Tax it, allow the FDA to regulate it, and sell it like alcohol.
If I lived in Cali, I would vote yes, even though I’m not a smoker.
We have a local ballot measure here in Colorado about whether or not we want to allow dispensaries in our city, and I have voted absolutely!
My friend, the results already came in. Bad news it failed officially. The Result was: Yes 44% as oppose to No 56%. Meaning that Prop 19 has failed. We still got old people who are still stuck in the 50s who voted no based on lies. Prop 19 didn’t pass it’s no lie :(. Man California ain’t going to survive. Here the link.
I’m in favor of legalizing marijuana, even though I haven’t smoked it since college, and likely never will again. For the most part, I’m not in favor of criminalizing victimless activities. My concerns are people smoking it (as well as cigarettes) in homes with children or by/around pregnant mothers due to the effects of second-hand marijuana smoke. But I think legalizing it might (possibly) help the government better regulate its use.
