You could possibly become a police officer someday. Different police departments have different standards pertaining to applicants and past drug use. Police departments in California tend to have less strict standards than departments in many other states. You will have to wait a while. It hasn’t even been 5 years since you’ve last used marijuana. Many departments wouldn’t normally consider you if you’ve used marijuana within 5 years. However, there are so many qualified applicants nowadays, that departments can be very selective about who they hire. Get a 4 year college degree if you don’t already have on. Don’t do anything illegal. Maintain a good reputation. Keep a good driving record. Don’t get bad credit. Improve all of your communication skills as much as you can. Become as physically fit as you can. Apply in another couple years.
